Mom leaves 6-month-old at daycare only to find giant bruises all over her body

Leaving your child at the daycare center is always a very difficult moment – both as a parent and as a child. However, you should be able to leave your child behind knowing that your precious one is safe and in good hands. Unfortunately, this mom was in for a complete shock when she picked up her six-month-old baby girl from the daycare.

The 23-year-old Anari Ormond picked up her baby Zuri Rose Camara, only to find her covered with huge bruises all over her body.

The mom from New Jersey, who works as a preschool teacher, thought that Zuri Rose would be completely safe at the daycare center, but it looks like she was wrong.

One day, the daycare center called Anari. However, she couldn’t pick up the phone because she was at work, but when she read the accompanying text message, she knew that something must’ve happened.

“Hey Anari. Call me on your lunch.” the text read.

As soon as she was able to read the text message, she called the daycare center only to hear an absolutely shocking story.

Apparently, Zuri Rose was bitten by another child, no less than three times. During all these moments, nobody was around to keep an eye on things.

And the shocking news didn’t stop there.

“I left work immediately and went there and when I got there I was stopped at the door with a completely different story. Now she told me that she ‘went upstairs to get Neosporin and fell down the stairs holding Zuri.’”

The little baby girl’s injuries were quite inconsistent with the story that the daycare providers told her. She did have wounds that resemble bite marks, but Zuri had bruises on her entire body, including her face, feet, and hands. The baby girl was completely banged up, and falling down the stairs couldn’t explain these injuries all over her body.

Anari was equally as furious as she was heartbroken.

How could this ever happen to a six-month-old girl? They’re supposed to be safe and cared for at a daycare center, and poor Zuri was just neglected and is now in terrible shape.

“Especially when I’m paying (darn) near $800 a month for you to take CARE of my daughter,” she wrote. “I’ve been very calm and quiet thus far to allow the investigation to take its course but I literally can’t sleep or eat and probably won’t until my daughter receives justice in the form of charges, shutting the center down, ANYTHING.”

After this shocking story, the daycare provider in Newark is now under investigation – but it’s still open for business.

In an interview with People, Anari recalls the shocking moment when she first saw her baby girl again. She hopes that no other parent has to go through what she had just experienced.

“I was shocked and heartbroken. She was just sitting there. She wasn’t laughing or smiling.”

“I felt so weak knowing that my baby is so helpless and couldn’t defend herself nor tell me what even happened. I’ve been feeling so defeated. I thought I was doing the best thing for her.”

After the shocking discovery, mom rushed her baby to the St. Barnabas Hospital right away. Doctors diagnosed Zuri with a concussion.

“We went straight to the hospital. They did a CT scan of her head immediately just to make sure there was no head trauma. There was no internal bleeding. On the X-ray, nothing showed up and they did an X-ray of her leg, but couldn’t see any fractures but that may have been because her bones are so tiny.”

After the trip to the hospital, the local police station was next to file a report. The case is still under investigation by the Special Victims Unit and Child Protective Services.

What an absolutely tragic situation, we can only hope that the investigation goes smoothly and that no other parent has to experience something heartbreaking like this.
