Babies become very comfortable with how their parents look. If that’s mom’s long blonde hair or dad’s mohawk that’s all a baby knows their parents to look like. Those parents are superheroes in babies’ eyes and you couldn’t sway them otherwise.

As for this baby, she was in for one big surprise this normal afternoon.

This daddy-daughter duo will absolutely melt your heart.

This full-bearded father receives lots of giggles from his adorable 1-year-old daughter as he swings her in the air. Followed by a sweet little hug the bearded father asks his 1-year-old named Dot,

“Do you see my beard?… Where’s my beard?”

Without question, his adorable daughter fluffs up her dad’s burly beard and says,

“Dada!”

Dot’s loving father comforts her by saying,

“Yeah, that’s right”

Her superhero dad set’s her down and assures her that he’s going to the bathroom for just a second and he disappears into the other room.

Little did this precious little 1-year-old know she was in for a shocking series of events…

The 1-year-old crawls on over to search for her dad. Minutes go by as she waits by the shut door and knocks her little hand on the door.

When all of a sudden a beardless dad opens the door!

Who in the world is this mom?

The 1-year-old looks up in complete disbelief as this “strange man” walks out of the bathroom and lifts her up. The now beardless father says “hi Dot” with a big smile, and you can hear the mom who was recording say to the shocked little girl,

“Who is it?”

While the father asks her,

“Do you recognize me.”

Dot’s blue eyes widened every moment she analyzed this surprise guest.

Then she realized her old bearded dad was gone and now this new beardless dad took his place. Dot’s eyes filled with tears, wishing she could get her burly bearded dad back.

Dot was not ready for the beard to go and the whole neighborhood could hear it.

That’s when superhero mom had to step in and assure her that the beardless man is the same exact dad who was just swinging her around moments before. It’s really hard to convince a 1-year-old that hair can be shaved off…

But after some mommy-daughter talk, Dot began to calm down.

Her now beardless father came up with a great idea to help her feel comfortable with her new looking dad.

He came up to both Dot and her mom with a black fuzzy scarf around his mouth so she could see he wasn’t such a “strange man” after all.

After a lot of persuading Dot started to warm up to the fact that this new beardless dad is in fact her dad.

Dot even gave her transformed dad a hug after all of the tears.

A beard really can transform a person and when a baby only knows their father with a big beard it’s hard to get used to them without one.
