If you’ve been spending hours on the internet, you’ve probably seen tons of videos showing animals being friends. Some of them are quite common, like dogs hanging out with his pack or horses enjoying a nice day at the field. Some animal friendships are more unique than others.

A video of a dog and an elephant is taking the internet by storm.

They share a really special friendship. You see, it’s not that common to see a dog and elephant bond in a special way. Dogs are generally domesticated animals while elephants are considered wild.

The video was taken in an Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai, Thailand.

There, a dog encountered a baby elephant. At first, it was hard to tell what the elephant would do with the other animal.

After spotting the dog, the baby elephant charged towards him.

At first glance, you’d think he was out to get the poor animal. However, their encounter quickly turned into a game.

The baby elephant kept on chasing the dog.

No matter what he did, he just couldn’t get him. He tried going faster but the dog was just hard to catch.

He’s way bigger than the dog and that’s probably one of the reasons why he couldn’t keep up with him. Plus, he’s still learning more about his mobility.

The dog started taunting the elephant.

Well, the dog was like any ordinary dog. He likes to play and sometimes, he teases his playmates.

The tiny elephant didn’t like it.

He felt more motivated to catch his new friend. Unfortunately, his effort wasn’t enough.

He ended up feeling frustrated.

He kicked a mound of straw. Like a baby throwing a tantrum, he grabbed some of them and flung them into the air with his trunk.

It was super entertaining to watch.

For the elephant, the game was frustrating. For the dog, it was super fun. He was probably super happy that he got to play with a new friend.

The tourists enjoyed the short game.

In fact, they were giggling while watching. It wasn’t clear whose side they were on but they definitely had fun witnessing what happened.

Finally, the baby elephant gave up.

He went to his mother as if he’s complaining about what happened. The mother elephant didn’t do anything with the dog. She just consoled her baby and had him join the rest of them.

The pair’s video has earned more than 15 million views.

Most of its viewers were clearly entertained. Like the tourists, they were probably laughing while watching the two animals.

One of them said:

“This is one of the cutest things I’ve ever seen.”

Another one commented:

“I liked how the adult elephants just watched and let Baby try. They knew the dog was playing. Then, when baby came back, they all turned their backs to the crowd and comforted the baby.”
