A baby goat decides to head butt a cat – and its reaction is absolutely priceless

Goats love headbutting things. And, apparently, we love watching.

They’ll headbutt each other to show dominance, to get attention, because they don’t feel well, or just because they don’t like something, and ramming their head into it seems like a good way to prove that point.

But we’ve never seen a goat brave enough to headbutt a cat before.

There’s a goat in the kitchen!

Whoever owns the goat in this viral video was clearly aware that something out of the ordinary was going to happen – otherwise, why do you invite a baby goat into your kitchen?

There’s the obvious cuteness factor, but also the obvious lack of house training to consider.

And then there’s the cat.

Over 4 million people have watched this cat strut into the room only to encounter a farm animal without a farm. And it proceeds to do what cats do best – intimidate the tiny creasure and then keep walking as if nothing happened.

But the goat is not having it.

It walks towards the cat as if it’s going to give this feline a piece of its mind – but it thinks better of the whole plan. At least at first.

Get back out there

Then the baby goat – which is smaller than the cat! – runs to its owner, who appears to be the one behind the camera. It got picked on and it wants either love or justice.

And let’s be fair, a goat owner can only deliver one of those things. So after a nuzzle, the goat is nudged back out into the kitchen to take care of business on its own.

You’ve got to learn to stand up for yourself at some point no matter what your species.

The result is a tiny goat bopping hilariously after the cat, looking to assert a little dominance but not quite sure how best to go about it.

For its part, the cat manages to care so little that it looks like the goat doesn’t even appear on its radar.

So, basically, it reacts like a cat.

The headbutting

As if to prove that the goat might as well not even exist, the cat begins licking its paw.

And, yet again, the goat is disturbed by being ignored.

We totally understand the feeling – cats can ignore you so hard that you start to wonder if you even DO exist. And that’ll stress a baby animal out.

Dealing with the existential crisis of wondering whether it really exists or not, the goat turns to its natural instinct for some clarity: headbutting.

There’s really no way to describe the kind of hopping motion it manages to perform, but we have to say the headbutt itself doesn’t seem all that sincere considering all the bluster leading up to it.

The cat is both literally and figuritive unmoved.

The little goat manages to connect with the cat’s chest before getting chased off with a snap. But the cat still wants to maintain the facade of not acknowledging the goat, so it manages to bite without even lifting a paw. There’s no swatting at all, in fact!

It does, however, look peeved.

And yet, it goes nowhere. This is the cat’s house and it’ll be damned if some tiny farm animal is going to be the boss.

There can only be one winner – one animal left standing. And it’s always the cat.
