When a baby first begins to speak it is truly a precious moment. From the moment we’re born we begin to come into awareness. We observe the sights and sounds around us. We find a way to interact. Cooing becomes babbling, which becomes syllables, and then words.

This video features an adorable baby, just a few months old, helping his family sing a hymn in church.

Even though he’s just an infant, you can see how aware he is, and it’s downright precious!

In the video, a woman sits in the pews and holds the baby up so that they’re face to face.

Lovingly looking into his eyes, she begins to sing a song about Jesus. And, surrounded by love, the baby starts to sing right back to her in a beautiful moment. Fortunately, someone acted quickly to film the tender moment.

According to WebMD:

“At 3 months, your baby listens to your voice, watches your face as you talk, and turns toward other voices, sounds, and music that can be heard around the home. Many infants prefer a woman’s voice over a man’s. Many also prefer voices and music they heard while they were still in the womb. By the end of three months, babies begin “cooing” — a happy, gentle, repetitive, sing-song vocalization.”

And sing a song he does! The baby peers back at the woman through his big eyes and accompanies her hymn.

As he sings back, he graces the church with a joyful noise. While he isn’t producing full words, when you watch him you can tell he’s thinking about how to match the woman’s voice, mimicking her song.

The woman holding the baby sings her praise with a beautiful voice of her own. The baby continues to interact with her, much to the delight of the family surrounding them. They pass on their passion and love for the Lord to the infant.

The baby remains mesmerized by the woman, and the family is mesmerized by the sweet and tiny baby. One woman exclaims from behind the camera, “he’s going to get the Holy Ghost tonight!”.

The adorable video was uploaded to YouTube where it’s received close to 2 million views and 74 thousand likes!

Viewers and commenters alike shared adoration for the compassionate and warmhearted moment.
