Uncle makes hilarious video of nephew performing “Riverdance”

Cameron Brown is clearly one proud uncle – and one with a good sense of humor as well!

In the caption of a video he uploaded to YouTube in September of 2014, he explained:

“When I saw my nephew jumping around in his Jolly Jumper, I knew I had to create this baby Riverdance video… He’s got some moves!”

It helps that he’s also super-cute.

People just couldn’t get enough of the bouncing baby boy named Will. Over 25,000 people have watched him “dance” on YouTube alone.

“This is amazing, I haven’t laughed this hard in forever! Omg, I will just come here next time I’m feeling blue!” said one amused commenter.

That’s because Will “Riverdance” Brown is a baby with some serious moves. And he doesn’t even need dancing shoes – all he needs is a Jolly Jumper!

Forget the years of dance lessons, just put on some background music and your kid is suddenly comedy gold. And, frankly, we don’t blame the people who wish they made those in adult sizes – that looks fun!

What’s most compelling about Will’s potential to look like an Irish dancer is his stick-straight upper body and lack of arm movement – those are hallmarks of the style.

See what we mean?

It’s all about those feet:

Now, the above photo is Irish dance, which is a rule-based dance sport. Riverdance, on the other hand, is a show that incorporates this dance among a few other styles.

Of course, most of us remember when Michael Flatley and his foot-stomping dancers came to North America and so we associate all Irish-type dancing with him (that is, if we’re over 30). (If you’d really like to feel old, Flatley is now 62 and has been retired for years.)

But back to the real star – Will Brown.

His video is lovingly edited together by his uncle from a few of his most relevant clips, so we really get to see the best of his “dancing.”

As for the Jolly Jumper – this video is from 2014, so the toy (like so many childhood classics) has been through the wringer in terms of how people view it as a “safe and appropriate” toy. Technically, it’s used to encourage muscle development in legs and core strength in babies that can’t yet sit upright on their own – and it’s been sold as a way to “exercise your baby.”

But any child who has been set in one knows it’s really just bouncy baby jail that allows your parents to use the bathroom without having to worry about what you’ll get into. Let’s face it, babies get plenty of exercise, so most parents have never worried about raising a lazy baby.

Despite being a proud uncle, “Uncle Cam” didn’t post too many more videos of Will – just one more, 2 years later. The other is a Benny Hill-style – or in this case “Benny Will” – montage of Will as a toddler engaging in the fast-moving slapstick that kids that age are known for.

Clearly this kid was ahead of his time in terms of physical comedy – although we think the soundtracks helped.

And if you’re really amused by this particular performance, just know there’s an entire genre of bouncing baby Irish dancers on YouTube. Start here for a good one.
