Sibling relationships are an interesting thing. You both love AND hate them, all at the same time, especially when you are kids. Some people never really grow out of that phase, either! However, at the core of it, we all know that there is usually nothing but love in kid siblings’ hearts.

10-year-old Mason recently showed us that sibling rivalries aren’t what they are cracked up to be.

Mason is a new brother from Ohio. “New brother,” meaning his mom and dad just had his brother Greyson 18 months ago. Babies are usually quite polarizing in an established household, however. Either the existing siblings love them, or they resent the loss of attention on them.

Mason showed how much he cared for his brother recently when he was seen on a baby monitor heading into his room.

Mason had heard his little brother crying in the next room and figured he would do something to help. Heading into Greyson’s room, he had a plan to comfort his little brother like he had seen so many times. It was 3 AM and the rest of the house was asleep – or so he thought.

His parents watched the entire event on the baby monitor, and Mason had no idea!

Gloria, Mason’s mom, was astounded at the act of love.

“I was smiling the whole time,” Gloria McIntosh, a 36-year-old mom of six in Ohio, told TODAY Parents. “He has a love for Greyson that is unspeakable. I can’t even really explain it.”

After watching the cute event, she knew that the world would want to see it. She posted it to TikTok and soon went viral.

Soon after Gloria posted the video, it had racked up over 5 million views!

The entire world got a chance to have their hope in humanity restored (as well as feel some warm tinglies). When Mason walked in at 3:23 AM, he sat with his brother for nearly an hour, hoping he would calm down.

When holding him didn’t stop the crying, he resorted to some other methods.

Mason wasn’t to be stumped. Using all the tools at his disposal, he played with his toys with him, read him a book, and even climbed into the crib to sleep with him!

After watching for a while, Gloria decided to give Mason some help.

Gloria knew that little Greyson wasn’t in the mood for sleeping and went in to help. She was incredibly touched by the fact that her son had decided to spend so much time trying to help the baby of the family. She decided to ask him why he didn’t just come and get her and his response is amazing.

“I asked him, ‘Why did you just come and get me in the first place?’” Gloria, a writer, recalled. “He was just like, ‘you had a big day and I just wanted you to get some rest.’”

Now THAT’S a mature kid.

After the past few months, we all need a little faith in humanity restored! Mason may be just the kid for the job. His mother was touched, but not surprised. She explained a bit more about him:

“I’m sure Mason was tired and cranky. He was woken up at 3 a.m.,” McIntosh explained. “But how you saw him treat his brother is how he is. He steps up.”
