Baby panda almost succeeds with hilarious crib escape

Animals are absolutely adorable, but if there is one species out there that definitely should be a top contender for cutest four-footer in the world, it has got to be pandas.

After all, these furballs are just so precious and adorable, and their clumsiness is uniquely charming.

There are dozens of popular videos online of pandas acting in an adorably clumsy way, falling over each other and of course – their favorite activity – rolling around.

Luckily, these animals aren’t as endangered as they once were.

Four years ago, in September 2016, they lost their “endangered species” classification, although their survival isn’t assured. They are now considered “vulnerable” animals and must be protected to make sure that we can still enjoy the clumsiness of pandas for generations to come.

Their population still isn’t what it’s supposed to be and still needs to be regained, but luckily, there has been a recent effort to grow their numbers.

The animal species is native to China, and there are a lot of animal-friendly initiatives over there to safeguard the further existence of the species.

A lot of these organizations take care of panda cubs in “panda nurseries”, and these places are among the cutest on earth!

If you see one of those adorable panda videos online, chances are that they were taken in one of these nurseries.

A perfect example is this particular video where we can see a pretty mischievous panda cup trying to escape his bed. Seems like he wasn’t interested in going to sleep yet!

Unlike all of his buddies who listened perfectly, this particular cub wanted to escape his crib and keep on climbing some trees outside.

Of course, those beds are built to make sure the pandas stay inside – but this cub will stop at nothing to try and get out.

As you can see in the video, he’s definitely doing his best- but also has quite some trouble trying to escape. The clumsy panda isn’t really coordinated and trying to climb over the barrier seems like a very tiresome task!

It gets even funnier when the cub finally manages to get on top of the structure but isn’t really sure what to do next. He clearly didn’t think this through enough.

However, this panda cub had a plan B.

The first method wasn’t exactly a great success, so he decides to try and go straight over instead as he shimmies around. We’re not sure if this tactic is better, as the cute cub tries to hold onto his balance the entire time.

After such a struggle, it finally looks like the panda is about to escape his bedtime!

Even though all of his friends were already in dreamland, this cub wasn’t about to give up just yet. With his leg finally over the bed railing, his plan was finally about to pay off.

However, all of his climbing work didn’t go unnoticed and a nursery worker quickly paid him a visit.

Unfortunately for the adorable furball, his escape plan ultimately failed.

The nursery worker approached him with calmness and then offered the panda a little bit of help to get back in his crib. Judging by the worker’s reaction, adorable things like this must be pretty common over here.

And even though the panda was now back safely in his crib, it doesn’t take long before he tries to climb out again. Taking care of these baby pandas definitely isn’t a boring job!
