Every parent knows that even the smallest babies have huge personalities. This dad’s little girl is no different.

There are some things that all parents should do for their children. For babies to develop into happy, healthy individuals, they need warmth and love.

This goes beyond hugs and diaper changes. Parents need to lavish their adoration onto their children. And one of the best ways of doing this is to sing to them!

The dad in this video has exactly the right idea. Almost every day, he picks up his little girl and sings her a different song. But one day, the baby started singing back.

The daughter was already cute just on account of being a baby. But as the days passed, the girl paid more attention to the dad’s singing. Whenever the music started playing and the dad picked the girl up, she would smile and love these little concerts.

After a few months, the baby was loving these moments much, she just had to join in. Luckily, the baby’s mother was filming the incredibly cute moment when the baby started singing back.

The evening started like any other. The dad came home from work and said hello to his two favorite people, his wife and his daughter. Then he put some music on. It was the Rascal Flatts song I’m Moving On.

The dad started singing along and the baby got super excited.

“I’ve been burdened with blame,” sang the dad.

In fact, she was bouncing up and down so enthusiastically that the dad was struggling to keep the tot in his grip.

“Trapped in the past for too long,” the dad kept singing.

Then the baby stopped moving and focused on the dad’s moving mouth. Clearly, she was observing how he was making those sounds and wanted to do the same.

The baby started making little wailing noises. But these weren’t any ordinary wailing noises. She was trying to match the pitch and tone of her father.

The dad ad libbed the words “Yeah, yeah, uh huh,” and the baby clearly tried to make the same noises.

Sadly, the mom accidentally turned the sound off, so the next part of the video was silent.

But then the sound kicked back in for the dad to sing “I’m moving on.” The baby then tried once more to match the dad’s singing.

After that, the video cut out, but this was still a very special moment.

The mom uploaded the video to Facebook, hoping that it would brighten up her friends’ days. But what she wasn’t expecting was that the video would go viral.

To date, over 13 million people have watched this video. It has also had almost 100,000 likes, 300,000 shares and 19,000 comments.

As a society, we value the first time that our babies talk or walk. But what about attempting to sing? There’s definitely a time when babies stop gurgling and start trying to sing to the sounds that they can hear. In some ways, it can be considered the start of complex communication, seeing as music is all about expressing emotion in sounds
