Baby boy throws his arms up like he's partying every time he's un-swaddled
What are some things that make you throw your hands up? You probably do this when your favorite song is blaring through the speakers, when you’re on a rollercoaster, or Beyonce told you to.
Maybe someone at an NBA game shot a three pointer? Your favorite NFL quarterback scored a touchdown maybe? Then it’s hard not to throw your hands in the air and shout.
Or maybe you’re just really happy for your own reasons like, say, passing your exams or asking your crush out? Whatever your reason is, there at least has to be big reason right?
But imagine being able to throw your arms up in joy just because you’re happy to start the day. That sounds absolutely weird, doesn’t it? Most of us prefer to oversleep or grumble as we make coffee in the morning.
You may find it hard to think of somebody who wakes up every morning happy to start their day.
Meet Kaden. The baby boy who does just that
At less than a year old, Kaden’s parents would wrap him in a swaddle quite often. A lot of babies are wrapped in swaddles at this age, but in Kaden’s case it was actually quite the necessity.
Kaden performs what’s called a startle reflex. The startle reflex is in fact, totally normal for infants. But Kaden’s was quite a bit stronger, so his parents had to wrap his little body in a swaddle to keep him from jolting himself awake in the middle of the night.
But his parents started to take notice of something he did every time they removed his swaddle
The routine was simple. Check to see if Kaden was awake in the morning, then remove his swaddle so he could move and stretch. This is when his dad, Kent Siri, took notice of what Kaden was doing each time.
The baby boy would always throw his hands in the air when removed from his swaddle. And every time he did, he would pop the biggest smile on his face too.
This was very important information to his father. Next step was to think of ways he could share this with everyone he knew. First order of business was to record the happy baby boy.
Kent’s thoughts were pretty straightforward : Kaden needs some accompanying music and movie lines
First he overlays “All I Do Is Win”, so Kaden puts his hands up right as the song says so. Then he tries everything else from Mel Gibson’s “Braveheart” monologue to Party in the USA by Miley Cyrus. He shares with Fox59 :
“We had been posting the individual clips on Facebook for weeks, but when I put the compilation together, things just exploded. Frankly, we’re still trying to wrap our heads around all of it!”
Kaden has since grown up quite a bit since his video premiered on the internet. His dad made a Facebook page for Kaden too, so he could record all the memories he shares with his son.
While all of us dread having to get out of bed, Kaden is just happy to wake up every day. Maybe he has the right idea
Dreading the future and worrying all the time is becoming the norm, especially in light of the world’s political climate and the new Coronavirus keeping us all inside. But perhaps we should take our cue from Kaden and just be glad that we get to wake up in the morning. It’s too easy to take for granted.
