Baby’s first word hilariously leaves dad devastated
When a baby says their first words, it’s usually either mama or dada. And while these words signify a milestone in any child’s life, it is doubly so for the parents. It can even be considered a competition amongst some parents as they try to get their baby to say mama or dada.
In a hilarious video, one dad learned that it doesn’t matter how hard you try to get your baby to say dada first, as sometimes it can backfire.
Often a losing battle for dads
In many cases, a baby’s mom wins this battle because they spend so much time with their newborn. And what baby doesn’t love their mom? But some dads are bound and determined to ensure that “dada” is the first word that their baby says.

To help in these efforts, television personality Jimmy Fallon has released a new book, “Your Baby’s First Word Will Be DADA.” An illustrated board book, Fallon hoped to make the life of dads way easier.
A hilarious video
In a hilarious video that has gotten over 49 million views on YouTube, a dad is shown reading to his baby. He is trying to get his baby to say dada. His baby is right there beside him engrossed in the book.

Fallon’s book makes use of large pictures of animals and the sounds that they make along with the word dada. The hop[e is to repeat dada enough so that a baby will feel compelled to say the word themselves.
The dad is doing an impressive job
In the video, the father is making an impressive effort to mimic the sounds of the animals, while he also says the word dada. The baby’s mom is filming it all and is enjoying the father and baby spending time together.
The baby seems to find the dad’s antics funny, even laughing at a few points in the video. Chances are the dad is feeling very confident in what his baby’s first words will be.
The dad is completely devastated
Then, all of the dad’s hopes and dreams are broken as the baby utters Mama. Completely devastated, all the dad can do is laugh about it.
The mother knows who her baby loves the most
As for the mother, she gets a good chuckle out of the incident. She knows who her baby truly loves the most, and it’s not dad.
