Just before the day when the groom says “I do,” his friends would usually throw a party for him to celebrate being single one last time. It is a day of celebration and partying.

However, one guy’s bachelor party did not go as planned, and things turned out to be different.

Mitchell Craddock is about to get married and he is having such a good time as he parties as a single man for the last time. His friends prepared a beautiful celebration and he is expecting amazing things that day.

Apparently, things went far and beyond his expectations, and this was not because he had a very fabulous party or extravagant gifts but because of something else. That “something else” turned out to be a momma dog.

The party in the woods.

A cabin in the woods was booked to hold the stag party for Mitchell and his friends traveled with him to Tennessee that day. Everyone was so excited and hoping for a lot of great things to happen in the said venue. They were sure about one thing: that it was going to be a memorable party in the woods.

There were no females allowed in the cabin, and the men were ecstatic to have the beautiful place all to themselves. However, one guest, also a female, crashed their party. It was a stray female dog who stood by their doorstep looking as if she wanted to tell them something but couldn’t.

The guys thought she smelled the food they were cooking in the cabin.

The stray mama dog was sniffing the lovely smell of bacon and stayed in her spot by the doorway. She sat and looked intently at the group.

“It all started while we were cooking bacon our first morning on the trip with the door to the cabin open,” Trevor Jennings, a friend of Mitchell, told The Dodo.

The dog was looking hungry and the men could not resist this lady pup. They welcomed her at the party but when they saw her closely, that’s when they knew that she is not in a good shape at all.

“We went outside to pet her and that’s when we noticed she was in rough shape,” Trevor said. “You could see her ribs and she was eating any scrap of food we gave her.”

The stray dog looked like she did not eat for days.

What made the men worry even more was finding out that the dog looked like she was feeding others than herself. Her body indicated that she was nursing and just gave birth to puppies.

“It was obvious she had some pups at some point but she was not producing milk when she found us so we thought the puppies were bigger,” Trevor said.

However, what the men expected was different from reality.

The men noticed that the dog kept on going back to one area near the cabin.

When the groom-to-be and his friends checked out the corner, they were surprised to find seven puppies waiting for the stray dog. The puppies looked like they were just recently born. With seven puppies to look after, it is not surprising that the female dog looks like she is always starved.

The boys carried the dogs and washed them back in the cabin. It was not safe for them to stay outside, and the men were serious about trying to help them.

Eight men found 8 dogs and what’s next on the to-do list? Each of them brings one puppy home!

The mom, who is now named Annie, was adopted by Craddock’s grandparents. They also adopted one of her puppies who they named Bear. The rest of the puppies were named Knox, Gunner, Annie, Brimmie, Finn, Rosie, and Daisy and are now living with their new owners.

Wow! This is one memorable stag party, indeed. The men were in the right place at the right time and because of that, they were able to save 8 puppies.
