Family moves into new home and notices their senior dog made a new furry friend

You don’t need to be blood-related to someone to be their family.

Motherhood doesn’t only apply to humans, it also does to animals such as dogs.

Bailey is a senior dog and to her, being a mother is not just a title but a blessing.

Back in 2007 when she was still a few years old, her now owner Arthur (and his family) rescued her.

Before being rescued, she was used as a breeding dog. She gave birth to countless litters of pups whom she was also forced to part with.

Although she is already a senior dog, Bailey is still sweet and caring.

In fact, just recently, she’s proven not only her human family but many others around that she still has the qualities of a true furry mother.

Everything happened a few months back when Bailey and her hoomans moved to a new home in the countryside.

Soon after moving in, Bailey’s family noticed a feral cat that was living in a ravine in the back of the house.

They tried to prove their suspicion by leaving food outside. However, they saw nothing, not even a trace.

Little did they know, their senior pooch was doing her own investigation.

Bailey’s human dad, Arthur, told The Dodo, “Bailey was frequenting the backyard to check up on them.”

What the curious dog was doing was everyone’s guess. Until one day, when they peaked out of the window
 they saw something unexpected.

It was Bailey and snuggled in her thick silky coat was a cat.

The two were spotted nestled on the porch. Comfortably sharing each other’s company, they looked like having the time of their lives.

A very unlikely pair of friends as they seemed to be, a dog and a cat?

Well, haven’t we seen or heard of something like this before? Stories of friendship between two different species?

Explaining how their senior cat ended up being friends with a cat, Arthur said, “Bailey’s never befriended a feral animal before. It just goes to show how loving she is. She’s always been extremely sweet.”

Though there’s no telling whether the kitten was homeless, the family decided took the feral cat into their home.

Not only did they welcome the feline into their home but also into their hearts.

It really shows the kind of family they are and how loving Bailey truly is.

They eventually named the new member of their family “Kitten-Kitten”.

“Kitten-Kitten is now living inside with everybody,” Arthur said. “She follows Bailey around almost like a puppy. Safe to say she’s a part of the family now!”

Unlike before when Bailey was still a breeding dog, her pups were taken away from her. This time was different, she’s going to be a mother to a feline – for as long as Kitten-Kitten needs her.

Arthur said, “Kitten-Kitten is loving being inside and interacting with everyone, but especially Bailey.”

Just in the nick of time, Bailey and Kitten-Kitten saved each other.

If Bailey didn’t save her from the open, the poor cat would’ve been left struggling amid the cold weather.

At the same time, Kitten-Kitten saved Bailey because now, she will be able to be a full-time mom which she never had experienced before.

“They couldn’t be more content,” concluded Arthur.
