Ballerina invents and shows off demanding (and slightly creepy) spider dance

We all know how hard ballet can be. At the same time, it is beautiful and ballerinas look like the most graceful creatures on Earth when they step on the stage.

Milena Sidorova, however, went for a different approach.

Take a look at the comments section.

The audience has come up with hilarious comments about the spider ballet.

One user compared the dance to him “trying to get the Cheeto that dropped under the couch.” Of course, those funny comments are by no means meant as an insult.

It’s just that Milena’s unconventional spider dance has inspired people to see spiders in a whole new light.

Sidorova manages to make her four limbs resemble the eight legs of a spider.

It must have taken a lot of time and practice to perfect such a unique move. We don’t even understand how someone can be so flexible, but ballerinas are impressive.

Milena manages to stretch both her legs and arms to make it look like she’s walking like a spider.

From the first moment on, Sidorova successfully captures spider movements and transitions them onto the stage.

Dressed in a black unison, she even looks like a spider.

We couldn’t keep our eyes off of her extraordinary routine.

The audience is in awe.

Spider ballet was the first of its kind but Milena was trying to create something different. “As a kid, I really loved spiders, and I used to observe them a lot,” Milena explained in an interview.

In the interview, she described how she came up with the moves. Basically, Sidorova was goofing around, imitating spider movements for her mom and the mother suggested that she turn it into a dance. That’s how ballet spider was born.

Dancing like a spider requires advanced technical skills.

“The spider pose demands a certain flexibility in your hips and lower back that even most professional dancers do not possess,” Milena commented.

She said that the most challenging parts are the first pose and the walk that follows.

Ah yes, did we mention that she walks like a spider all across the stage? Well, she does.

Milena says that it took about two months to perfect the routine.

Two months sounds like a relatively reasonable period for such a tricky dance.

Sidorova also mentioned that many people had also danced The Spider publicly without her permission, which is illegal.

On the other hand, numerous other artists have asked for permission to dance the spider, and they have all ended up winning awards.

Incredible! Great job, Milena.

We’ve forgotten all about arachnophobia. Spiders are definitely artsy now.
