Beach obsessed dog can’t stop jumping with joy every time her feet hit the sand
Different dogs have different personalities. Some are quiet and some can be quite loud. Even having a home full of other dogs is not enough to keep a dog from being themselves, and can even bring out the best, and worst, in them.
One dog, in particular, has shown her love for the beach in an energetic and surprising way.
She is a very vocal and sassy dog.
Tofu has always been vocal, according to her owner Ashleigh MacPherson, and can even be quite sassy when she wants to be. But the one place that really brings out her inner wild side is the beach.
A case of the zoomies
“She will zoom around and bark like crazy,” MacPherson told The Dodo. “The beach seems to be her favorite place to visit.”
Tofu likes to jump into the air with excitement at the beach.
Tofu shows this enthusiasm for her favorite destination by jumping for joy as soon as she runs onto the sand. She jumps into the air over and over, never seeming to tire of the act.
It has even attracted the attention of others on the beach.
Tofu’s actions delight other people at the beach
“People who we passed on our walk — their faces would light up with joy seeing her happiness,” MacPherson said.
What to do about Tofu?
The rest of the family dogs aren’t quite sure what to make of Tofu’s shenanigans when she starts jumping about, especially her sister Kiko.
They tend to look at her like she’s missing a few marbles.
“My other dog tried to join in, but her jumping skills weren’t as impressive,” MacPherson said. “The other dogs we were walking with seemed unsure of what to make of this crazy, jumping, loud, ginger fox-looking dog.”
The reason behind Tofu’s behavior
But who can blame Tofu? She is just showing her love for the beach. Plus, it makes her unique and, eventually, the other dogs get used to it. And some, such as Kiko, even try to participate.
Tofu’s actions are probably due to the release of a hormone named oxytocin, which can cause excitement.
This excitement gives a dog the ability to exhibit bursts of energy most often in the form of running around, or, in Tofu’s case, jumping into the air. Either way, it is perfectly natural.
The beach is her favorite place in the world
And her actions aren’t a one-time thing. According to MacPherson, Tofu does this every time that they go to the beach.
MacPherson just looks at it as Tofu’s way of saying thank you for getting to go to her most favorite place in the world, the beach.
