Even though there are so many different dog breeds out there, many owners will agree that Beagles are absolutely perfect. These four-footers are so affectionate and playful, and they definitely know how to create a strong and inseparable bond with their human parents.

“Their noses guide them through life, and they’re never happier than when following an interesting scent. The Beagle originally was bred as a scenthound to track small game, mostly rabbits and hare,” Dogtime.com writes about the Beagle breed.

Lola is a perfect example of such a pooch, who always wants to play around with her dad Paul Roberts.

Lola’s dad had to go away for three months, but when he finally returned back home, he figured it would be a nice idea to surprise her with a game of hide-and-seek!

Of course, Roberts knew that his favorite four-footer would absolutely go wild when she saw him again. He set up a camera and captured the whole thing on video.

The hide-and-seek game was absolutely perfect because Beagles are known to be ideal “sniffer dogs”. You’ll also see then often at border controls and at customs, as they like to sniff on things but remain completely friendly and calm.

When dad came back, he decided to hide under the blanket. Even before Lola spotted the bulge, she couldn’t believe the scents in the room.

There were clothes and luggage in the room, and it doesn’t take long before the adorable four-footer sniffs it and realizes that it’s quite the familiar scent. She can’t believe it, would this really be her owner who finally returned back home to her?

After a short while, Lola begins to suspect that her human owner is simply hiding underneath a cover of blankets.

Even though her nose definitely wasn’t lying, you can just tell by her manners that the cute dog was still skeptical of her owner coming back home.

As she gets on the bed, she excitedly starts wagging her tail and can’t wait to figure out this mystery.

The scent gets stronger, and you can see Lola getting more and more excited. She knew that daddy was finally home!

When the moment finally came and daddy revealed himself, Lola simply couldn’t contain herself. She licks and rolls all over her owner, her best friend, and she can’t stop cuddling and snuggling.

Paul then tries to calm her down and talks to her, but the excitement of both really can’t be contained! These two missed each other greatly and the reunion was absolutely heartwarming.

They say that a dog is a man’s best friend, and if this adorable video doesn’t prove that, we don’t know what does.

It even gets more touching when Lola calms down and begins crying out of emotion.

Apparently, dogs can get very emotional too, and these cries are definitely coming from joy.

“Who else caught themselves smiling the WHOLE time?” one person commented.

“They’re called mans best friend for a reason. Loyalty is worth every dog hair,” another added.
