If you’ve ever had to be separated from a loved one for any length of time, then you can relate to this dog. Lola was desperate to find her owner and looked everywhere!

Paul Roberts and his wife have two dogs. The poodle loves Paul’s wife, but Lola the Beagle’s favorite human being is undoubtedly Paul.

Sadly, Paul sometimes has to spend many months away from home for work.

Everyone misses Paul when he’s away. But Lola’s sadness is something else. And when Paul does come home, Lola showers him with love.

One day, Paul got back from his work abroad, and he and his wife decided to play a game. They wanted to see if Lola could find Paul if he hid away.

So Paul’s wife put Lola and the poodle in the lounge while Paul went inside and hid away quietly.

With Paul hidden away, his wife went to the lounge, opened the door and called Lola.

Lola looked straight up. Paul’s wife said “Come on then.” The dog could tell that she had something for her, but she didn’t know what yet.

In the hall, Lola picked up a distinctive scent. Could it be Paul, she wondered?

Lola then shot up the stairs, following the scent.

Lola stopped at a door, becoming more confident that her owner was behind it.

The dog went into the bedroom and sniffed around. But there was no sight of Paul. Then the dog looked on top of the bed. Something was under the covers.

Lola sniffed some more and was sure that Paul was hiding there. So she leaped onto the bed. Then she started scratching away at the covers, trying to get inside.

Paul lifted the covers off of himself and said hello to his beloved dog.

Then Lola started hugging Paul, rubbing herself all over him and yelping with happiness.

Lola then rested her chin on top of Paul’s face, occasionally moving to give him more affection.

Luckily, Paul’s wife was filming the entire thing. She uploaded the footage to Paul’s YouTube channel, and in no time, the video went viral. To date, it has had almost 5 million views. It also has over 81,000 likes and 5,600 comments. People have been saying things like this:

It’s easy to imagine the amazing times that were ahead for Paul and Lola (and the rest of the family.) This was just the beginning of the affection!

And this wasn’t the last time Paul would play this trick on Lola. In fact, from then on, every time that Paul came home, he decided to hide in the bed. And every time, Lola would be over the moon to have her favorite human back by her side.

Paul and Lola sure are lucky to have one another. But Lola extends her affection to everyone in the family.

The Roberts household has gotten little bigger in recent years, as Paul and his wife have had a daughter. Lola was quick to love and embrace the daughter as another member of the family.
