They all have unique backgrounds and personality traits. While some people raise them as workers, owning a pigeon as a pet is another viable possibility.

Pink-Necked Green Pigeon

As you can see, this particular variety boasts every color of the rainbow. But what makes this bird even more beautiful is how all the different hues softly blend. Without question, this pigeon is stunning to look at. And how can you deny those adorable pink feet?

Nicobar Pigeon

At first glance, you’d never guess this was a pigeon. It almost looks as though it belongs to the peacock family or perhaps it’s related to the Dodo bird. Regardless, those dark feathers and that cute little knob on its beak make this pigeon stand out.

Victoria Crowned Pigeon

Talk about a regal-looking bird. This pigeon is fit for Royalty. As part of the Goura family, this particular bird lives on the ground and at full maturity can grow to the size of a turkey. Even the baby has the start of a crown that one day, will look just as majestic as its mom.

Brown Frillback Pigeon

Don’t let this photo fool you. That’s not a white pigeon resting comfortably on a bed of fluffy brown feathers. That fluff is the backside of this bird. It also has flurry white feathers surrounding its feet, which makes this pigeon all the more stunning.

Jacobin Pigeon

This pigeon has a built-in parka that looks as though it’s part of a high-end designer collection. Depending on the bird, the “hooded coat” can be dark brown, reddish-brown, pure white, and even speckled. This is another example of a bird you’d never guess to be a pigeon.

English Trumpeter Pigeon

Those black and white feathers are gorgeous. Because this bird’s body is so densely covered, it looks somewhat like an owl. This particular bird isn’t a natural breed but the result of very selective breeding practices. Of all pigeons in the US, this is one of the most popular.

English Barb

Although this bird has more of a pigeon appearance, the wine-colored feathers are beyond beautiful. And those unique rosebud circles around the bird’s eyes add to its overall allure. It even has matching feet. What an amazing creature.

Brunner Pouter Pigeon

Okay, we have to admit this is one unusual looking pigeon. The lean body and tall legs look completely disproportionate with the globe around the bird’s neck. Experts explain that sometimes, this globe becomes so large that these pigeons have a difficult time eating.
