Twenty-three years is a long time to maintain any relationship, much less a friendship. As we grow older and our lives change, we tend to grow apart from friends we made at different times in our lives.

But that’s not the case for BFFs Samantha Clark and Christina Arthur of Aiken, South Carolina. They’ve been inseparable since they were 7 years old.

“It all started at Kindergarten graduation. Samantha stole my number for our graduation jingle, and I then proceeded to cry. We’ve been best friends ever since!,” Arthur joked in a post on Love What Matters.

The two lived next door to one another throughout their school years and did everything together.

“We played softball together, learned to drive together,” Clark said. “We were side-by-side for both of our marriages and had each other’s back when we both divorced.”

To celebrate their friendship they took a page from the family and couples playbook and decided to stage a photoshoot. It’s a trend that just might take off – after all, who says couples shoots need to be confined to romantic couples?

“I thought it would be perfect for us because anytime we get together, we just laugh and act goofy and just straight up always have a good time with each other,” Clark told InsideEdition.

And these two women really know how to do it right. They had a blast at the unique shoot and brought “props” to remind them of all the things they enjoyed doing together.

But while a professional photoshoot to celebrate friendship might seem rather posh, the props were simply reminiscent of things they both enjoyed – for example, chicken wings from a local bar where they spent many nights chatting.

As a way of trying something new together, they also brought beers to shotgun.

Alas, that’s a skill acquired in college or not at all and that part of the shoot went haywire as Clark drank from the top of the can. Then again, the unscripted moments are what make it memorable.

Breana Welch, owner and photographer of Easy Breezy Photography shot the photos and has done many other BFF shoots. Now that these photos have gone viral, she’s got many more coming. Her Facebook and Instagram pages show duos shopping at Target and having a Taco Bell picnic in a field together.

The idea is the perfect mix of glam and girl power. After all, why shouldn’t we celebrate female friendships?

“Growing up as next-door neighbors our whole childhood years, we had the perfect friendship,” Arthur wrote. “From riding our bikes through the neighborhood, to staying up all night during our many sleepovers in our homemade tents, and all the way down to us learning to drive and both having babies, we’ve been with each other through it all!”

In the over 77,000 comments on Clark and Arthur’s photos, there are hundreds – if not thousands – of people tagging their besties and suggesting they get some photos.
