When we saw the “after” photo from Paula’s makeover, we had to go back and check to make sure it was the same person.

Paula went to transformation guru Christopher Hopkins (aka The Makeover Guy) for a whole new look last year. And she didn’t have to go far since she’s from LeRoy, Minnesota and he runs his “appearance studio” out of Minneapolis. Customers fly in from all over the world to consult with him!

And we can see why!

Hopkins specializes in giving makeovers to men and women over the age of 40 and nearly every video he posts goes viral. That’s partly because he doesn’t drag out the drama. A quick before and after is enough to leave people in awe.

In under a minute, we see Paula become a whole new person.

Here she is at the beginning:

Of course, she doesn’t need to change a thing – she looks happy and healthy. But she said she was ready.

Ready to cut off that long hair? YES.

“Whatever happens happens,” she said with a smile.

Asked what her husband might think, she was lucky enough to be able to say that he was bound to be fine with any result because “he loves me whether my hair is long or short.”

Well, it’s short alright!

Twenty seconds into the video we see the “new” Paula. Her hair has been cut to shoulder length which allows her curls to really come out of hiding.

Her short, sassy new ‘do is no longer grey either, it’s now a light blond with some bright highlights.

“I got rid of all that long grey hair that was dragging me down,” she said to the camera with a big smile.

And she certainly looks more buoyant with her bouncy, face-framing bangs and layers.

Her makeup took the transformation to a whole new level.

While Hopkins has members of his team handle that part, she was clearly in the best hands.

Having arrived virtually bare-faced, the first thing the makeup artists did was even out her skin tone with a foundation. This also eliminated the redness (that so many of us have).

With great bone structure to begin with, they didn’t need to do much contouring, although you can see her skin has had a touch of bronzer added to really make her cheekbones pop.

Previously hidden under her bangs, she’s had her brows filled in as well, which makes a huge difference in framing her face.

They worked with a neutral color palette so that all the focus was on Paula’s smiling eyes, which really got the royal treatment!

False lashes and eyeliner were utilized for an extra-glam result.

“Oh my goodness, Paula suddenly feels lighter and brighter, and look at those EYES!! Fantastic!!!!!” marveled one commenter.

There were a few comments about the makeup being a little overboard, but we think she looks fantastic and – most importantly – so does she!
