One of the best things about dogs is that they are quick to make friends. These dogs soon accepted a cat as part of the pack. And when she gave birth, they were overjoyed.

When cats give birth, they usually have a large litter. This cat was unusual, in that she only had a single kitten.

But the kitten was never lonely, thanks to her dog uncles.

The kitten was healthy. From day one, her owner looked after the kitten and the mother, taking extra care to ensure that they were safe.

At first, the kitten’s father and dog relatives could only peer at her through a baby gate.

But they were desperate to let the kitten know that they would protect her.

Then the kitten’s father was allowed to see his daughter for the first time.

Amazingly, the kitten seemed to report back to the dogs right after meeting the kitten. It was like he was sharing how excited he was to become a father.

After a few days, the owners finally let the dog uncles meet the newborn.

They all stared at the kitten in awe. They instantly accepted her as a part of the family and wanted her to know that they would be there for her.

The kitten must have been a little startled at first.

After all, a husky and two golden retrievers must have been an intimidating sight for the kitten. But soon, she could see that they were her family members.

When the kitten had started walking around on her own, the mother snuggled up with one of her dog brothers.

As the days passed, whenever the kitten started to cry, all of the dog uncles would run to the baby’s aid. Of course, most of the time, she just wanted her mother. But if the kitten had ever been in trouble, the dogs would have helped out.

Soon, the kitten grew into a playful young cat. Luckily, there were always plenty of family members to play with in the home.

A video of the kitten’s first few days in her home appeared on YouTube recently. The video has since gone viral. In just a couple of weeks, it has gained almost 14.5 million views. It also has more than 366,000 likes and 12,000 comments. People have been saying things like this:

The kitten has no idea how lucky she is. As far as she knows, every kitten has a group of attentive dog uncles to dote over them.

Of course, there are precautions that all pet owners should take when introducing a cat into a dog’s household and vice versa.

For instance, when you bring a new furry family member home for the first time, you should always keep them separate from other pets for a few days so that they can settle in.

Also, introduce the different animals with a solid barrier in between them, such as a door, so that they can get used to the smell of each other. Then install a baby gate or something similarly seethrough (but not a glass door, as dogs need to smell their new family members.) And always observe your dog and cat’s body language to assess whether they are comfortable with one another and ready to be with each other without a barrier.
