When it comes to how people feel about their siblings, the answers can be wide and varied.

Some of us love to torment our brothers and sisters as the preferred method of bonding, while others can be devoted and even a bit overly protective.

However they forge their bond, the blossoming relationship between siblings is an exciting and beautiful thing.

Of course, let’s be real here, it’s pretty much a guarantee that there will be times siblings don’t get along.

In fact, over the course of the years, you will probably see them fighting with and annoying each other more often than not.

At the end of the day, it’s still all good though. After all, fighting with your siblings is just a rite of passage and, oddly enough, only strengthens the bond in the long run.

The truth is that one of the only times you’ll see unadulterated affection between your kids is when one of them is a newborn.

This little “big” sister is completely enamored with her newborn baby sister, and their infatuation with one another is already quite remarkable.

As 5-year-old Evelynn cradles Annabelle in her little arms, the baby rests so comfortably that she begins to drift off to sleep. All the while, her big sis is flooding her with tender affection.

“Evelynn was so happy that Annabelle fell asleep on her. She has been such a big helper and She loves holding her baby sister any chance she gets!” Evelynn’s mom captioned the precious video on YouTube.

That much is obvious by the way Evelynn gently holds her little sister. It’s clear that all of her priorities have suddenly shifted to the tiny bundle in her arms.

Something about this look on Evelynn’s face tells us that Annabelle won’t have to worry about anybody hurting her in life.

This is a big sister no one wants to mess with.

As the baby sucks on her pacifier, Evelynn carries on a conversation with her mom in a soft voice and you can see Annabelle grow more and more relaxed. She knows she’s safe with her sister.

Even the girls’ mom couldn’t help but point out how relaxed the baby was with her sister.

“She looks like she’s gonna’ sleep on you like that,” you can hear Mom say in the video.

Clearly, that’s something this big sister is A-Okay with. She responds by giving Annabelle the sweetest little kiss on the forehead.

“Maybe she’s cozy on me and wants to fall asleep,” the big sis replies to her mom.

Well, she certainly seems to be right about that! Evelynn is so captivated by her baby sibling that she can’t stop pulling away a little to look down on her tiny new best friend.

Mom makes sure to let Evelynn know that she is the reason why Annabelle is so calm.

“She is just content on you. You’re such a sweet big sister,” she says.

Knowing how long newborns can sleep, Mom offers to take the baby off of the 5-year-old’s hands while she naps but, of course, Evelynn won’t be having any of that! Just like a big sister, though, she pipes up and puts the blame on her little sister.

“I’ll be okay holding her I don’t wanna’ make her mad.”

Her little sister is perfectly safe right where she belongs; in her loving arms.
