There are those of us who are country music fans, and there are country music fanatics! When it comes to Syd the Blue Heeler dog, she definitely falls in the latter category.

Syd has grown up drenched in cowboy culture her entire life. Her dad is an actual cowboy and ranch hand who loves the down to earth lifestyle that comes with keeping it country. In fact, he’s an up and coming country music artist himself, not to mention one hell of a photographer.

Taking all this into consideration, it makes perfect sense that this Blue Heeler is all about country music.

Syd not only loves country music, but the heeler even has a favorite song; Chris Ledoux’s Look At You Girl.

Syd has a lot of songs that she likes and will sing along to when she’s in the mood, but this song is different. It doesn’t matter what she’s up to or what kind of day she’s had. When she hears her favorite song come blaring through the speakers she will sing along every single time.

You don’t have to take our word for it, though. Syd’s dad, Chris Petersen, uploaded a video of them driving in the truck a few months ago and the Heeler’s reaction to her favorite song has gone viral.

“My Dog Sings Country Music, Can You Guess Her Favorite Song? My dog likes to sing along to several country songs but there is one song that she can’t resist. she sings along every time she hears it,” Petersen captioned the video.

Syd is riding next to his dad as they drive down a country road with a beautiful backdrop of rolling hills in the distance. The Heeler seems pretty content looking out of the window until her ears perk up.

You can literally see the moment Syd recognizes the song.

The dog’s eyes light up as she hears her jam playing from the speaker. The dog’s facial expression throughout the video is the sweetest thing ever! It’s like she feels every word of the 1992 classic.

Syd gets even more excited when she hears her dad softly singing along to the words right next to her. We don’t think that the dog needs any more inspiration to sing than for the song to start playing. If she does though, her daddy’s voice is it.

The sweet Heeler girl pours her whole heart and soul into howling along with her dad.

Just seconds into the song and once she heard her dad, Syd tosses back her head and starts singing with everything she’s got. Watching her like this, it’s almost hard to believe that she doesn’t know what the words are saying.

Petersen steals a few sneak peeks at his best buddy howling out the lyrics to the song. She is surprisingly good at it, too! Sure, she may be a tad bit out of key, but she’s howling from the heart and it’s just as moving.

Petersen joins back in with his ol’ girl, singing along beside her.

“She’s definitely a Chris Ledoux Dog. Maybe she needs a duet on my next album😂” the singer captioned his Instagram upload of the video.

He sure is right about that! Heck, this howlin’ Heeler deserves a spot on Chris Ledoux’s stage, as well.

After the song comes to a close, the sweet, furry little singer snuggles in close to dad for some pets and ear scratches. Their video debut has raked in well over a hundred thousand views and has proven to the world once more that music truly is a universal language.
