Animals are incredible.

With each species equipped with unique characteristics, it’s always interesting to observe them from a distance (or up close, if permitted). Seeing them in their natural habitat is amazing enough for us humans, but witnessing rare instances of these creatures showing off is something else.

Lucky for us technology makes it easier to study these amazing animals and capture the exact moment they decide to leave us in awe.

These guys, for instance, were out fishing for some blue crab when suddenly, a bobcat decided to make an appearance and put on a show.

Bobcats don’t usually do this. Sometimes called wildcats, these creatures are nocturnal and quite elusive. That’s why the guys were quite surprised to see one.

Its scientific name being Lynx rufus, the bobcat is a mammal with long legs and large paws. They are approximately twice as big as the average housecat.

Known for being fierce hunters, bobcats hunt by stealth and each leaping pounce can cover 10 feet. Impressive!

And speaking of pounce…

The mean watched the bobcat as it made its way across the weir until reaching the opening of a low dam. Instead of the usual leap cats do as they ascend to a higher surface, the animal decided to be a little extra and give them something to gape about.

Earning major cool points for its species, the bobcat must have known eyes (and a camera) were on him.

Crouched down, it was seen breathing and flexing its muscles. Now he’s got the humans’ attention! Then, the incredible moment.

From its crouched position, the bobcat rose with such power that it cleared the huge gap of the weir in one smooth jump.

Already in awe of the creature, the guys didn’t realize more was still in store for them.

Apparently not done yet, the bobcat began to spring off each spaced column.

He caps it off with a cool and casual exit, simply walking back into the bushes, leaving his audience shocked.

Online viewers were impressed by the scene.

Now that’s a wonderful surprise from nature! What was supposed to be just another day for catching crabs turned out to be front-row ticket to a nature show.
