Andrea Bocelli grabs Helene Fischer’s hand for a heavenly duet
Nothing captures our senses quite like music. Wherever music is playing, at a restaurant, a bar, a park, or a concert, everyone gets along just fine, even for just a few minutes.
Wonderful music stimulates our senses like nothing else.
Much like this collaboration by these very talented people. In this video, Andrea Bocelli, Helene Fischer, Chris Botti, and David Foster perform for us a beautiful rendition of “When I fall in love“. Outside what looks like a row of apartments facing a body of water, a stage is set in the beautiful evening. The walls are adorned with strings of lights that give off a warm orange glow, highlighting the people on the stage.
David Foster begins with an introduction.
He informs Bocelli that someone he had never performed with will be singing with him tonight.
A very famous young singer from Germany. David also calls an American trumpeter and composer, Chris Botti, to the stage.
Victor Young and Edward Heyman wrote and released the song, “When I Fall In Love” in 1952. This romantic song, with its sweet melody, is perfect for lovers and soon to be ones.
Other big names have covered this song. Artists such as, Nat King Cole, Celine Dion, Clive Griffin, Rick Astley, Donny Osmond, and many others.
They begin with a soothing intro. Foster on his piano accompanied by Botti’s trumpet. A soft violin arrangement from the band matches the mood. Andrea’s jacket and Fischer’s dress perfectly compliment each other.
White made them stand out from the crowd of people on stage. These are great artists indeed.
Bocelli barely sings the first verse and the audience breaks into applause.
“When I fall in love
It will be forever
Or I’ll never fall in love”
Andrea’s Italian accent is very noticeable throughout his singing. It adds a certain exotic flavor to the song.
“In a restless world
Like this is
Love is ended before it’s begun
And too many moonlight kisses
Seem to cool in the warmth of the sun”
Helene’s voice has a perfect balance of tone and power. She carries the melody with breathtaking control with her sweet voice. No German accent here. Sorry, Andrea.
Chris Botti finds his moment and he takes it away with jazzy notes. He blows his magic into his trumpet. All while David Foster continues to key in on his piano. The amount of talent on that stage is electric. What a lucky night for the crowd.
Bocelli and Fischer close their eyes and smile as they enjoy Botti playing on his trumpet.
Andrea is not displaying his already established vocal power. He lets Helene shine and take a few high notes. This lady has made a name for herself. Her performances can be found all over the internet.
It’s one thing to sing together. It’s a whole other level to sing and blend together. These two very talented singers do it perfectly without overpowering or drowning each other out.
The collaboration of these four artists is breathtaking to behold. The song, the setting, the musicians and singers, gave that audience a night they won’t forget.
