Bon Jovi helps homeless veterans by donating $500,000 to build living facility

Have you heard of the song “Unbroken” by Bon Jovi?

Jon Bon Jovi wrote this song himself. It was a part of the Netflix 2019 documentary film entitled “To Be of Service.” The film is an eye-opener as it follows different stories of war veterans who are suffering from PTSD or Post-traumatic Stress Disorder.

Bon Jovi’s song is about a brave soldier who went back home but is suffering another war.

This facility offers housing assistance to our homeless veterans. The housing apartment is located in Washington DC.

In an interview with CNN, Jon Bon Jovi explained that:

“Oftentimes, [veterans] left to deal with PTSD [Post Traumatic Stress Disorder] and the issue of coming back to the workplace after leaving the battlefield…Life as you knew it is going to be different, and sometimes, people need that extra help.”

PTSD is not a joke.

Soldiers coming home still have battles to fight – a battle that a few can understand. Sometimes, this leads them to have broken relationships and have a hard time going back to work.

That’s why there are so many homeless veterans in every city in our country.

Government assistance, therapies, and even housing for veterans, don’t you think they deserve these and more?

Looks like Bon Jovi is one of the kind-hearted people who know exactly how to help. Aside from the cozy and relaxing apartments, the Walter Reed facility offers different programs that aim to help our homeless vets.

It gives them the support they need, so eventually, they would be able to get back on their feet and thrive.

But for now, these veterans would have their own place. An apartment where they can eat, take a warm bath and sleep comfortably. This can mean a lot for someone who has been through so much.

Aside from helpful programs, the facility also has a courtyard, a small gym, and even a computer room. There is also a very cozy room with a fireplace where the veterans can go and relax and even talk to each other.

Bon Jovi wasn’t done yet.

All of the proceeds from his song Unbroken went to the Patriotic Service Dog Foundation. This foundation aims to support veterans with PTSD by pairing them with their own service dogs.

We all know how amazing dogs are, and with their help and assistance, our veterans can get back on their feet sooner.

The veterans that come home with PTSD still have a bright future in front of them. They just need our help and understanding. It’s their turn to receive the love and dedication that they have shown for this country.

Let’s follow Bon Jovi’s act of kindness towards our heroes, and together, we will be able to help them get their lives back.
