Jon Bon Jovi donates over $500,000 to build living facility for homeless veterans
Jon Bon Jovi has done it again. The rock and roll frontman has made another milestone with his charity work.
If you’re out of the loop, then let me introduce you to the Jon Bon Jovi Soul Foundation. It’s a non-profit charity organization started by the rock legend himself, and you bet he takes it seriously.
Bon Jovi’s charity organization donated half a million dollars to build living facilities for veterans.

Many veterans in the U.S alone return without much of a home to come home to. Joining the military is a popular choice for people wanting to pay for college or secure their financial futures. But it’s often not so straightforward.
First of all, the toll that service can take on your mental health is a herculean burden to have.
PTSD is incredibly common among people who served their country and it’s not easy to live with.
Some see success in rehabilitation and therapy, but it still takes a lot of time and work.
As an icon of American rock music, it’s fitting that Jon Bon Jovi would step up to help those who served the nation. Besides his music that’s played in almost every bar, on every station, and sung by many Americans, Bon Jovi also gives back in the form of charity work.

The donation from the JBJ Soul Foundation will make a tremendous difference in the lives of these veterans.
Bon Jovi’s parents were both marines so it should be no surprise that America’s brave men and women are close to his heart.
“Often times they are left to deal with PTSD and the issue of coming back to the workplace. You know you leave the battlefield and you come back into life as you knew it, it’s gonna be different.” Jon Bon Jovi said
This donation coincided with the release of “Unbroken”, a song Bon Jovi wrote about those brave men and women.
In both his words and actions, Bon Jovi wants the best for America’s heroes.

And in the song, he wrote a very moving and haunting line about the reality of PTSD: “I lie awake at night with dreams the devil shouldn’t see.”
One of the veterans who moved into the new facility had previously been homeless for about a year.
Thanks to Bon Jovi’s sincere kindness, he can finally sleep in his own bed.
There’s some more good news as well. Since 2010, the amount of homeless veterans in the U.S has declined by 53%.
Thanks to both small and large-scale efforts, veterans in the country are finally getting the support and life they deserve. It’s only fair since they’re the ones fighting for the rest of us to have normal lives too, right?
It’s always nice to hear some good news in a world that always seems negative. Even more so when it’s about an artist we all know and love.
