Bride and dog bust a move on the dance floor with performance to "Footloose"
The reception after any wedding is always a load of fun. But it can also be a little awkward for those who can’t dance. The music is intense, people are having a great time, and you can’t help but feel like moving.
But not everyone can bust a move, so they just hang back and watch while enjoying their drinks.
This bride felt like hitting the dance floor, and just her luck, she had a partner who wasn’t shy about it at all.
Girls love a guy who can move. That’s a fact many can attest to, and it was a lyric in a Little Mix song for a reason.
And a guy who can tear up the dance floor at the wedding reception is quite the guy, don’t you think?
But her partner wasn’t a guy. It was her “best dog” that happened to be a Border Collie, and boy can this dog dance.
The bride is Sara Carson, and the song is Kenny Loggins’ “Footloose.” It’s a pretty scary song to play when you’re expected to dance. Kevin Bacon’s stellar performance and dance moves set the bar way too high.
In fact, it makes one pretty happy to hear people still using this hit in modern weddings and events. Footloose is way too good of a movie. It screams the 80’s and is part of what defined that decade.
To this day, it’s still a joy to watch Kevin Bacon vent his frustration in that warehouse or see him teach his friend to dance.
That said, the dog really can cut footloose – even though he can’t wear Sunday shoes (or any shoes, for that matter).
If you have any doubts about what I just said, then watch it for yourself.
The dog could really move and twirl even on two legs, and it did a darn good job.
It’s twirling and moving in unison with Sara.
That’s already way better than most of us can do. And that’s not even the most impressive part yet.
Sara forms a hoop with her arms and the dog jumps right through, sticking the landing. Yeah, don’t ask me to do that.
Imagine showing up to a dance floor and being upstaged by a dog. Thank goodness no one’s having a dance-off with this pooch.
This dog can even spin and twirl on command. With one hand gesture from Sara, the dog does a flawless twirl.
That’s not all it can do. This energetic canine can leap pretty high too.
So it gives a couple nice leaps with a command from Sara.
And almost as if it’s trying to outdo itself, it pulls off a move that blew even me away: a backwards flying twirl off of Sara’s back.
That’s incredible dancing and athleticism all from one dog. Border Collies are remarkably energetic dogs. Usually, running, and playing fetch would be their outlet for all that energy. But clearly, dancing works too.
Let’s hear it for the good boy, if you know what I mean.
What do you think? Do you think you can dance better than this dog? I doubt it.
