Bored woman in quarantine saws her hair off with a kitchen knife because she has no scissors

Now that we have all been stuck in quarantine for 30… 31… 32 (who’s counting anyway?) days, I think it is safe to say that we are all going a bit crazy. There are only so many TV shows you can watch, books you can read, and games you can play before you start to absolutely lose your mind.

Ever since we have been stuck in the house, people all over the world have been trying their best to find fun and new things to do in order to pass the time. People have been baking bread, playing Animal Crossing for thousands of hours, and going live on Instagram.

It’s fascinating what activities we come up with when we are bored.

One particularly bored woman in New Zealand, 25-year-old Corrie Walker, was having a decent time in quarantine until she finally decided that she had enough of mundane life.

Walker has been doing a fine job at social distancing, but she hadn’t brushed her hair in quite a while and she was sick of the knots. I mean, why would you bother with brushing your hair if you didn’t have to go out and see anyone anyway?

So what did she do? She decided to cut her own hair.

Giving yourself a haircut at home isn’t completely out of the ordinary these days but there was one out of the ordinary problem.

Walker didn’t have the proper scissors for cutting hair. She didn’t have any scissors, in fact.

That did not stop her though. After realizing she didn’t have scissors, she decided to go ahead with the cut and use knives from her kitchen instead.

Sure, maybe you can saw your hair off instead… We’re sure it’s been done before (we have no idea).

Luckily for us, Walker decided to capture the whole haircut on camera for our viewing pleasure.

“I’ve been in lockdown for two weeks now. I’m kind of over it and I’m kind of over this,” Walker says as she pulls at her hair in the clip. “I literally haven’t brushed it in two weeks… So gonna cut it all off.”

Then she whips out a huge knife which looks like it’s made for the biggest sourdough loaf ever. She takes it to her ponytail and honestly, we are so impressed by how little fear she shows. She seems to be totally cool with sawing off her hair at that moment.

When she starts to saw off her ponytail, she says, “Is it even working? I don’t know!” That’s not really what you want to hear when you are getting your hair cut off.

Even through the uncertainty, she continues to keep sawing. It’s quite loud and honestly hard to watch at points. “I actually don’t think I’m getting through it,” she continues.

Eventually, she cuts off all her hair.

“That feels so good. I understand that it looks like trash because I just sawed my hair off with a knife, but I’m kind of digging it.”

“I have wanted a haircut for months. Unfortunately, just before our lockdown in New Zealand, I was due to get it cut but my hairdresser canceled,” she told Unilad.

“Because I was working from home and dealing with kids 24/7, I stopped caring about my hair as I wasn’t leaving the house and it got really knotted. I washed it and went to brush it out but it was taking too long, so I decided cutting it off would be easier as I wanted the hair gone anyways.”

We’re happy she’s happy! Here’s to quarantine life!
