Boy is scared abusive father will hurt puppy – leaves dog at shelter with a heartbreaking note

Some people in this world do terrible things to their pets. This puppy’s owner was one of them.

When Andres’s family brought a puppy into their home, they were overjoyed. But the joy would not last. Andres’s father is a bad person who goes on crazy mood swings when he drinks.

Most people know that puppies can be hard work. It seemed like Andres’s father didn’t know this. Whenever the animal misbehaved, the man would lose his temper and beat the dog.

Andres kept on pleading to his father to stop hurting the dog, but Andres himself was scared of his dad.

After several weeks of the father still being aggressive to the dog, Andres made a heartbreaking decision. He decided to put the dog in a box, write a note and take him to the nearest animal shelter, Refugio Xollin.

The boy left the puppy and the note at the front of the shelter, as he was terrified of being identified.

A translation of the note reads as such:

“My name is Andres and I am 12 years old. My mom and I decided to leave my dog in your hands, hiding it from my dad because he is thinking about selling him. But he mistreats and kicks him. One day he kicked him so hard that he hurt his tail. I hope you can help and take care of him. I left him a stuffed animal so he won’t forget me.”

The volunteers of the shelter were heartbroken at the note. They named the pitbull puppy Rene and posted his story onto the shelter Facebook page.

But Rene won’t be homeless for long. Soon, the post had been shared far and wide. Hundreds of people have contacted the shelter asking to adopt the puppy.

Pretty soon, Rene will be ready to find a loving home. However, the poor creature is currently recovering from his injuries at the hands of his previous owner.

However, Rene has no idea how much good he has done. Refugio Xollin has never had so much publicity. As only one family can take Rene home, the volunteers have been recommending other dogs at the shelter to the people who want Rene. That means that many dogs have now found forever homes.

This story is indeed shocking. But the sad truth is that too many dogs around the world are suffering at the hands of cruel owners.

Of course, there is another more worrying side of this story. Andres and his mother may be in danger by being in the home of an abusive father. Luckily, the shelter is also working on getting them help.

The volunteers have been reaching out to people in the community who may know who the boy and the mother are. At the moment, they have not been able to identify the family. Hopefully, someone will come forward soon for the sake of the mother and child.

This is sadly a story that is still developing. No one can say for sure that Andres and his mother will be safe.
