There’s a good reason parents give it some thought before telling their children that they’re getting a new sibling. While some are excited, others become riddled with anxiety.

But if you’re 6-year-old Tré, you are just absolutely not OK with becoming a big brother again. He just did that!

In a viral clip viewed millions of times since it was uploaded in 2014, mom Shanee Gibson Hart of Fort Lewis, Washington decides to tell her kids she’s pregnant while they sit in the backseat of the car (though her daughter Amaya is far too young to understand or react).

Little did she know she’d get some serious static over the surprise.

“Argggh. What were you thinking?” Tré yells as he covers his eyes in frustration.

For her part, Amaya continues to suck on her pacifier. But Tré is about to give his mom some strong words – and he’s incredibly articulate!

“This makes no sense,” Tré insists. “Why do you need another baby? You just had two!”

A little judgemental there, Tré!

Then he follows it up with his now-trademark line:

“This is so exasperating!”

For his part, Tré feels like there are already enough babies in the house, but what he doesn’t understand is that the new baby won’t replace him or his sister.

While he declares the new addition “too much,” it’s clear that he’s actually concerned about losing his parents’ attention and affection.

Mom explains that Tré will simply be getting another brother or sister to help take care of – no one can replace him or his sister.

Alas, he’s still not impressed.

“That doesn’t make no sense,” the tike shouts.

He truly is exasperated!

In fact, he’s heard a baby crying before and he couldn’t handle the noise. When he asks if the baby is a boy or girl, his mom says she doesn’t know yet. Tré really hopes it’s a girl since he thinks boys cry more.

This is clearly not the reaction mom was expecting to her big news.

When he asks for some earplugs for when the new baby comes, mom agrees.

For her part, Amaya doesn’t seem to mind the news, at least what she understands of it. She gives an adorable smile when asked what she thinks.

After the video went viral, the camera-ready Tré and his mom were invited to The Ellen Show. That’s when she revealed that her family did warn her that they thought her son was going to be mad and they convinced her to record his reaction.

Tré was OK with his sister Amaya at first, but once she got home and the crying began, “he was not having it.”

When Ellen asked the little boy if he knew what “exasperating” meant, he said “Yes, it means ‘what were you thinking? This is not fair.'”

Pretty close.

When Tré is asked if he’s going to be a good big brother, he doesn’t really have an answer.

“Umm…” is all he can say.

And that’s fair enough. Only time will tell.

That baby turned out to be a boy – and we hope that since this all took place in 2014 that there’s not too much crying in the house anymore.
