Boy sings coronavirus rendition of ‘I Dreamed a Dream’ in the car with his mom

People all over the world have faced a lot of hardships since the coronavirus has upended daily life. For some, isolation has been enough of a struggle. Others have had to deal with health problems and joblessness. So, since we’re all going through these tough times together, it’s especially helpful when someone can bring a smile to our faces.

That’s why so many people have taken to the internet to express themselves. We may not be able to see each other in real life, but we can make time to connect online. Sometimes, that means having an even bigger audience than imagined.

That’s what one 16-year-old found out

Nick is only 16 years old but he’s already got an amazing singing voice that he likes to share with the world. He knew his singing could lighten the mood on the internet. He sings a familiar cover

If you’ve ever seen “Les Misérables,” you know the song “I Dreamed a Dream.” Of all the songs performed in the play and movie, it might just be one of the most popular. So, Nick decided he wanted to sing that song and put it on the internet. But he had a way of changing it up to coordinate better with the current situation.

Putting a coronavirus spin on it

At first, it sounded like Nick was going to sing the song we all know and love. That’s what the music sounds like, after all. But he added a little something special to his performance. He wanted to change the lyrics to describe what’s happening during the coronavirus pandemic. By putting his special touch on it, the song went to the next level.

It’s beyond hilarious

The coronavirus may not be a laughing matter but that doesn’t mean people can’t make fun of it…and that’s just what Nick did. He changed many of the lyrics to include lines talking about ruined vacation plans, unemployment benefits, and so much more. It’s an interesting and humorous look at everything that’s happening in the world right now.

His mom is there the entire time

There’s another part of this video that makes it even funnier. You can see his mom in the car during the entire song. It’s particularly hilarious because she’s keeping a straight face. That must’ve been hard to do. Even though she wanted to laugh while he was singing, she kept it together.

A beautiful performance

While Nick’s version of the song is funny, that’s not the only reason it received so many views. As you can hear, Nick is a very talented singer with a unique voice. That’s a gift that not a lot of younger people possess. He’s going to go far in life if he decides to choose a career in music.
