Boyfriend Makes "Love Pills" to Help Girlfriend Struggling With Anxiety
Anxiety, panic attacks, and depression can make life really tough.
If you have ever experienced a panic attack you know that it can leave you feeling exhausted and powerless. Doctors prescribe various treatment options to help victims deal with the effects of anxiety. If you have any family that struggles with anxiety, you understand how difficult it can be to see them fight a difficult battle.
That’s how this boyfriend felt seeing his girlfriend suffering from her anxiety and panic attacks. So he created a thoughtful solution to help her feel loved.
A boyfriend was recently going through a similar situation. He felt helpless as he watched his girlfriend go through panic attacks and battle anxiety on a daily basis.
He wanted to help, so he designed a remedy that most doctors would never even consider.
Riley Rankin didn’t need a Ph.D. in psychology to figure out his girlfriend was struggling.
Riley and Denisha Bracey have been dating for a couple of years. Bracey has battled panic attacks and anxiety struggles all the way back to her middle-school days. Originally from Canada, the couple was in Germany for a year away from their families. Leading up to their anniversary, Denisha had been struggling, and Riley noticed. He put on his thinking cap, and came up with a great way to show his love for his girlfriend.
Denisha was surprised when she received “Love Pills” filled with tiny messages.
Of course, Riley hasn’t studied medicine, and the “Love Pills” don’t have any medicinal qualities, but they do have plenty of benefits. First, Riley purchased capsules made out of gelatin. Then, he wrote out a bunch of tiny messages. These messages are geared towards showing love and value to his girlfriend whenever she is feeling down. Dedicated, Riley took the time to put a single message into each individual pill. He created 60 of them and put them inside of an old prescription bottle.
Instructions say, “Take 1 pill as needed. Maximum 3 daily.”
All of the notes contain a different phrase or quote. Some of them mention how much Riley cares for her, while others remind her of what she’s good at. The notes focus on Denisha, her good qualities, and her personal well-being. When questioned about running out, Riley said Denisha will have to get a refill.
“I said to her that when she goes through them all, she can come back for a refill,” Riley mentioned.
Showing love and support was Riley’s goal, and this anniversary gift did just that.
Denisha was worried in the beginning before telling Riley about her anxiety, but it turns out, Riley has also been diagnosed with the same thing his girlfriend is suffering from. The couple knows the importance of honesty and being there for each other.
Being open and honest is a tough part of relationships, and Denisha was scared to be open about her anxiety. But, Riley has had similar struggles in life. Being there for each other is so important, and the whole situation has brought them together as they fight their battles side-by-side.
Riley mentioned the need to “just be really compassionate. I forget that a lot too, it’s hard to remember because sometimes it’s hidden, you don’t notice – somebody can be smiling but they’re really not feeling good inside. It’s important to just remember that and be compassionate.”
If you want to see an incredible love story in 2020, this is it! When we recognize that we are stronger together, that’s when we as humans really start to succeed. We start this process, by loving each other, and that’s exactly what Riley did.
