Boys’ hilarious powderpuff routine has the entire halftime show audience in stitches
When you go to a basketball ball game we all know what happens halfway through… Halftime show! A lot of times you can expect an all-female dance routine following along some type of theme. Or maybe a show watching talented dogs jumping through hoops or catching frisbees. Sometimes you don’t care and take the time to use the restroom or grab some concessions.
But this show was gonna be impressive, and you didn’t want to miss it.
A group of seniors guys from Carroll High School are about ready to bring a dance routine you’ll never forget. They come out dressed to impress with full-blown cheerleading outfits. They have the skirts of course but are wearing shorts underneath for the vigorous dance about ready to take place.
At the student vs. staff basketball game, the crowd in lucky Southlake, Texas start to cheer. The staff member who introduces the team has a tone to his voice of excitement as if he’s seen the routine already.
He says “this is without a doubt, the best performance you will ever see.”
With one student holding his fist to the lightning bolt painted on the court, he looks like Thor and is about ready to bring the smackdown. The music starts and it’s Michael Jackson’s ‘Thriller’. Following the zombie theme implied from the song, the guys start dragging themselves toward the center like the walking dead.
Once the whole team comes together at center court, the beat drops and the boys snap into the routine. They cover some of the classic dance moves from the ‘Thriller’ video with perfect timing and rhythm. It becomes very clear that they have put lots of time into perfecting these moves.
There is tons of energy with this routine. Just as you get into the groove of ‘Thriller’, the song changes to a Lady Gaga song and boys break apart spanning the floor. Now you start to see how this is gonna go! So professional how they seamlessly change from song to song and from vibe to vibe. It’s very reminiscent of how the SuperBowl halftime shows go.
Throughout the dance routine, they move through so many genres of music. Country, hip-hop, pop, and the list goes on. They keep smiles on their faces the whole time and the crowd absolutely loves it. They applaud nearly the whole time but erupting as each song ends and begins.
It’s so impressive to keep an crowd who is there to see a basketball game entertained for nearly 7 minutes. They sprinkle in quite a bit of comedy throughout the dance, even adding the infamous line from Kanye West interrupting Taylor Swift during her award-winning speech. The crowd all had a big laugh.
If you’ve ever seen Beyonce’s music video for “Single Ladies”, then you’d recognize the dance step they choreographed next. Done all in a line, it’s no doubt the crowd knows, as the applause gets louder. These guys even pull off costume changes during the performance. Time to bring out the blonde wig.
There is no doubt its a great routine and the boys show a lot of athletism. They know how good it is and how hard they worked. Maybe it’s good enough for the seniors to get themselves on the Ellen show? They have put the word out there on the Youtube page and with over 3.2 million views, maybe Ellen will hear about it.
