There aren’t a lot of things in this world that are stronger than music, and there’s no doubt that hearing your favorite performers sing live in front of an audience is the best possible experience you can get. There’s a reason why live performances are so incredibly important to the industry, as it really gives artists a chance to connect with their fans and deliver an unforgettable moment.

As if it wasn’t enough to hear just one of the largest country music stars live, the lucky audience members here witnessed a beautiful duet performed by Brad Paisley and Alison Krauss.

They performed a live rendition of their own song “Whisky Lullaby”, and it was just absolutely breathtaking. The crowd simply couldn’t enough of these two talented performers.

Of course, they performed before the outbreak of the virus, and while large-scale music concerts and events still seem far away, it does keep help us reminding what we can look forward to when it’s all over and the situation is finally back to normal.

Just in case you don’t really know who Brad Paisley and Alison Krauss are, their reputations pretty much speak for themselves. “Whiskey Lullaby”, in particular, is probably one of their most popular songs that hit the charts and radio stations all the way back in 2004. The title went platinum multiple times and it has also handed them plenty of award nominations and wins.

The pair sang at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Tennessee – a sacred place for all country music performers and fans.

Even though not everyone is a fan of country music, it’s pretty hard not to get overwhelmed by this beautiful and touching song. Brad Paisley only has to play the chords to the song for a couple of moments before the audience knows what’s in store for them. Right away, they can just enjoy Paisley’s beautiful and incredibly crisp voice. Even though live performances are often very different from the actual track, it was actually pretty incredible how consistent Paisley’s powerful voice was.

Brad Paisley sings the first part of the song on his own, but it doesn’t take long before he’s accompanied by Alison when the chorus starts. Her voice is just as powerful and compliments Brad’s really, really well.

There’s a reason why “Whiskey Lullaby” is a song that really touches people, as a lot of them can definitely resonate with it.

“He put that bottle to his head and pulled the trigger/and finally drank away her memory/life is short but this time it was bigger/and the strength he had to get up off his knees/found him with his face down in the pillow/with a note that said ‘I’ll love her ’till I die.’”

In the middle of the performance, Alison sings a particularly difficult piece of the song and shows her incredible vocal range.

Her voice truly is one-of-a-kind, and her powerful timbre and emotion add so much to the already heartfelt words of “Whiskey Lullaby”. It would be very hard, if not impossible, to find a better country singing duo than these two talented musicians.
