Elizabeth wanted to show her husband just how much he meant to her. Eventually, she thought up the perfect way of doing so on their wedding day.
Weddings come in all shapes and sizes. There’s no one right way to marry. Instead, the perfect wedding is one that shows just how much the bride and groom love each other.
That can take many forms. For instance, Elizabeth decided to surprise her husband with something unique.
When Elizabeth met Scott, she realized that she had found the thing that she’d been searching for for so many years. Scott was deaf, but she had never met a man who listened to her so well.
One day, Scott got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. Elizabeth, of course, said yes.
The couple got to planning the wedding. But Elizabeth wanted to incorporate a surprise for Scott, one that would show just how much he meant to her.
After a lot of thinking and searching for ideas, she came up with something.
So the months went by, and Elizabeth kept on practicing her special wedding surprise for Scott. Throughout this time, Scott was none the wiser.
Then the wedding day came. Elizabeth marched into the room and then stopped at the aisle.
A song started playing. Scott could feel the vibrations. He could tell that this was not the wedding march and was confused. But then it all made sense.
The song A Thousand Years by Christina Perri was playing. Elizabeth started signing to the song.
Scott was astounded. He knew that Elizabeth had been learning sign language. But he had no idea that she knew these signs.
As the song kept on playing, Elizabeth kept on signing to it. Scott was so happy to see that she was signing perfectly. He realized that she must have been practicing for a long time.
When the lyrics ended but the instrumental part of the song kept on playing, Elizabeth walked up to her soon to be husband. By now, Scott could no longer hold back tears.
The couple kissed and proceeded with the ceremony. Scott knew that he was marrying the right woman after witnessing her performance.
Luckily, the footage of Elizabeth’s surprise then made its way onto YouTube, where it soon went viral.
To date, it has gained almost two million views. It also has more than 7,400 likes and 300 comments. People have been saying things like this:
Elizabeth’s expression of love for Scott has really touched the hearts of people all over the world.
She really has set a high bar for everyone else!
It’s important for us to show the people in our lives that we love them. Of course, we don’t always have time to learn elaborate performances for the people closest to us. But we can make an effort to be kind and to express our appreciation of them, even in small ways, such as a simple “I love you.”
