'Bubble puppy' could only survive a few seconds without protection but now lives her best life

How would you teach the world to someone whose only world was a bubble?

A little puppy came into The Bottle Brigade after it was suspected to have asphyxiated while nursing. The poor feeble puppy was blue and was barely conscious when they took her in.

She was then placed into a glass case where they funneled in some oxygen to help her breathe. Slowly but surely, her color changed back to normal. However, the puppy didn’t know that this will be her entire world from here on.

Every day, Sally would watch her caretakers from behind a transparent barrier.

While she was doing way better than when she was rushed in, the little puppy still needed constant medical support.

To give her a place to recover, the staff provided this inflatable crate and continuously pumped it with oxygen so Sally could breathe. This became known as her “bubble”.

And while it wasn’t an ideal place to grow, the staff made sure that she was comfortable with her snuggly stuffed toys and warm bedding.

One day, they noticed Sally pawing at the bubble’s flap.

She was very adamant about satisfying her curiosities because everything for her is so close yet so far. She knew there was a world outside her bubble and she wanted to experience it.

The team that was tending to her reluctantly let her out of her bubble and let her walk around a bit. After a minute, they had to rush Sally back inside when she struggled to breathe.

This didn’t deter the puppy to discover the world, however.

The doctors also advised the team to let her out once in a while to give her the chance to strengthen her lungs. Since then, they’d let her out regularly and put her back in when she gasped for air.

She’s like an alien trying to live in our world. And yet, Sally never gave up. Eventually, she became too big for her crate. The team, then, made a custom acrylic case just for her.

Her lung training continued and as for Sally, there were no signs of slowing down.

At one point, they decided to take her out into the yard. She was so excited to feel new sounds and sensations like the wind and grass.

They still return her to her crate. Sometimes, she even walks herself inside when she feels like she needs some oxygen recharge. Despite the prolonged dependence, there was obvious progress. There were times that she was outside more than she was in.

One day, Sally just refused to go back inside.

No matter how hard they tried, Sally kept on jumping out of her crate. That’s when they knew that Sally has decided – she was going to live her life from here on.

One of the staff members adopted her immediately. As someone who was with her from the beginning, she knew how to take care of Sally. And thanks to the effort of her team, Sally finally embraced how a dog should live.

She now lives a happy life with her loving family and is undergoing a new set of training – swimming in the water.

Watch how this “bubble puppy” defied the odds and became the dog she was meant to be.
