Lego waffle maker lets you have the chance to play with your food
Who says you can’t play with your food?
Growing up, many of us were told not to play with our food. While many still abide by that rule, there are some who dared to dream outside the box. Those who envisioned what life would be like without such a harsh and unfair rule.
Fortunately for us, those dreamers became doers who, in turn, created a lego waffle maker where consumers can literally build lego-inspired designs with their breakfast food.
Come again?
Yep, the Building Brick Waffle Maker is giving waffle fanatics a chance to have some fun with their food. Created with WaffleWow, they are determined to make breakfast creative and fun. Though it isn’t available yet, those interested in the unit can donate to the company’s Kickstarter campaign in order to receive a Brick Waffler Maker when they ship in August.
Needless to say, the company is doing extremely well for themselves. Though they began with a goal of $7,500, they were able to raise over $200,000.
Clearly, they’re not the only ones who have been wanting to play with their food.
The details
The design allows consumers to make up to 14 waffles at a time. In addition, the waffles come in various sizes – 1×1, 1×2, and 1×4. Based on the designs that the test team has come up with, there are bound to be some masterpieces in the future.
If you are interested in receiving a unit when they ship, all you have to do is donate. Potential buyers have until April 17th to participate in the Kickstarter. The pledge levels are as follows: $50 for one waffle maker, $75 for one waffle maker and two construction plates (eating plates), $95 for two waffle makers, or $100 for two waffle makers and four construction plates.
In addition, since the Kickstarter reached 2,000 backers, they are going to give away their official guide to waffle brick building to every backer, regardless of pledge level. Now, that is pretty neat. What good is having a brick waffle maker if one doesn’t know how to build waffles?
Of course, with so many backers, there have been other updates to the campaign. Other than giving away copies of their “official guide,” backers now also have the opportunity to “add-on” pieces of equipment, such as construction plates, to an order.
Should you pledge to the waffle?
If you’re thinking ahead for the holidays, you might want to consider adding on an extra waffle maker as a gift. After all, you might be handsomely rewarded with an invitation to a waffle breakfast from the receiver. How exciting!
However, you might not want to wait around if you’re thinking about pledging. Surprisingly (or not), the company’s campaign was fully funded in just one day. Clearly, you’re not alone if you love your waffles.
