Bulldog loves to watch street through hole – so owners paint costumes on fence
For some reason, animals often find themselves in tight spots. It’s usually cats, with that innate curiosity and all, but on plenty of occasions, we’ve seen dogs try to stick their heads in holes if they think there’s something interesting on the other side.
In Bogart’s case, it’s traffic. And while humans normally shake their heads at the kinds of things animals are amused by, in our currently quarantined world, more than one of us has been amused by something just as boring. Probably for hours.
And the rest of us have fallen down the hole of animal videos online.
So it’s no surprise that Bogart the bulldog has now gone viral the world over (but especially in Denmark and Norway).
The reason is a video taken by some women passing by his family’s home.
The video of Bogart got back to one of his owners, Ranveig Bjørklid Levinsen, who reshared it on her Facebook page with the caption (translated):
“Bogart has gone viral in Denmark—he has also got on one of Denmark’s biggest influencers’ Instagram profile, and now I can see that he’s [on] a Norwegian dog group too.”
Unfortunately for him, however, his fans are laughing at him.
That’s because his owners played an adorable joke on Bogart – they painted a little costume on the outside of the fence where Bogart likes to peer out.
He is King of the Road!
We can certainly picture ourselves getting a good (and fun-loving) laugh out of such a thing, even if Bogart doesn’t know what’s so funny.
He seems to be taking both the fame and laughter in stride.
Speaking to Bored Panda, Levinsen said her home is in the southern part of Denmark where she lives with her husband, Claus, and TWO dogs, Bogart and his mother, Winston.
Levinsen says “…she doesn’t care about the male name.”
“…we decided that she should have puppies. She [had] 8, and we kept Bogart—he was the smallest and totally cute. He has a [unique] personality, and he is so funny—I really do love that little guy.”
Lucky for us, the couple has a pretty great sense of humor. In fact, there are two little costumes one might see a dog face peering through when passing by – the other is a court jester.
And don’t worry, Bogart isn’t the only one to get in on the fun!
But when it’s mom’s turn, she gets to be royalty.
“We are living close to a walking path, so many people pass by every day, and the dogs are just so curious,” said Levinsen. “To prevent them from skipping the fence, we made the holes, but even if it was funny to see them from the other side, I just thought it would look even [funnier] if we painted something.”
It is, indeed!
She got the idea from “amusement parks where you can have your photo taken in these kind of holes.” And while she came up with the idea, her daughter is the one who executed the designs.
This fun family is full of humor – but also love for their sweet pets.
The only goal was to make people smile when they saw the two pups – and they’ve certainly achieved that.
