If you’ve ever spent time with a bulldog, you know they’re loveable but stubborn little tater tots. And while they are celebrated sleepers, they’re quite playful in their waking hours and have big bursts of energy.

Take Theo, for example. He spends his time playing with metal bowls.

Yep, you read that right.

It turns out Theo is downright obsessed with his bowls.

About a week ago, The Dodo reposted a video of Theo’s antics on their Facebook page and earned a whopping 21 million viewers over that short time. Pretty impressive since it was already posted in 2019 where it quickly earned over 20 million views then as well!

People just can’t get enough of this bulldog’s strange little obsession.

Theo’s dad can’t really explain the fascination, but Theo is hardly ever seen without a bowl of some sort:

“You know, he’s a typical bulldog, a sweet little guy – just oddly fascinated with bowls for some reason. He sleeps with them, he plays with them, he chews on them – he does everything with them,” dad said.

Theo’s owners got him when he was just a puppy and noticed he loved standing in his water bowl. But they couldn’t figure out why.

Then, when he would eat, he would fling the bowl around with his stubby nose, tossing it into the kitchen. Eventually, they just bought him some bowls with a lip so he could more easily carry them around.

What else are you going to do when your dog only plays with bowls?

One thing that really concerns Theo is getting his bowls run through the dishwasher – he seems very worried he might not get them back. So he likes to help himself to the clean dishes.

And while Theo isn’t terribly picky about his bowls (he’ll steal them all), he insists on having whichever one he can see – even if he has a few already sitting next to him and one already in his mouth!

Theo’s owners have learned that it’s best to leave bowls strategically placed throughout the house so he can always find one. Because if he can’t, he’ll go dump his water over and steal that bowl. What a stinker!

“It’s almost like a pacifier, like a security blanket,” said his dad.

That means the funny little bulldog even sleeps with his bowls – sometimes with his face in them!

He’ll carry them to bed and often be touching them or have a paw in one before he can get some shut-eye.

And it’s not the size of the bowl that matters. Theo loves bowls both big and small and the family has provided him with a full range. But it appears the “baby bowl” is his favorite.

Perhaps because it’s easier to carry than some of the other bowls he’s willing to pick up (which is all of them).

His only real preference is for metal bowls that are relatively light (like most dog food bowls).

This all makes Theo’s home pretty interesting when it comes to decor, and probably the noise level as well! Those bowls clang pretty loudly.

The family is happy when Theo is happy, however, and they’ll clearly be living the bowl-life for quite some time.
