Bulldog spends all day looking through fence holes, has no idea why people are laughing at him

Bogart the bulldog had spent years staring out of a hole in his fence. What confused him was that one day, people started paying much more attention to him.
All in all, Bogart the English bulldog has a great life.
He lives in a comfortable home in Denmark and is lucky enough to live with both his dog mother and human mom and dad.
Anyone who has ever owned a bulldog knows that they are very low energy animals. Bogart is much the same.
His favorite activities are sedentary. And nothing gives him more pleasure than people watching.
He always used to love staring through the gaps in the fence. Then one day, his human mother decided to make his people watching easier.
She cut a hole in the fence.
It was just about wide enough to fit the dog’s head. It was also the perfect height for him to sit up and poke his face through.
So sitting and staring at people through the fence hole soon became Bogart’s number one priority. He would sit and stare at the world for hours at a time.
Often, the people would say hi and pet him. Other times, they would wave and walk on. Bogart took great pleasure in assessing all of the passersby. He loved looking at people’s quirks and mannerisms.
Soon, Bogart learned about people’s routines.
He knew when children would be heading to and from school, when the mailman would walk by and when people would like to walk their dogs.
But then one day, something really odd happened. Literally everyone started paying Bogart much more attention.
Before, only a handful of people would stop and pet him. Now, everyone was stopping, taking out their cameras and trying to get a reaction from him.
At first, Bogart thought that it was a fluke. Were the people just in a really good mood? But then it got weird. People weren’t usually this friendly so often.
Sadly, what bulldogs gain in cuteness they lose in intelligence. Bogart has little chance of ever working out what it is that made him so desirable all of a sudden.
The actual reason, as the pictures have shown, is because Bogart’s owners have made his peephole funny for everyone. Tthey painted a golden crown and regal coat around the hole.
For a while, everyone could tell that Bogart was the king of the street. Luckily, he was benevolent and friendly to all the peasants passing by, especially if they pet him.
But then the owners cut a second hole for Bogart. Bogart soon started using his hole too. The hole elicited a similar reaction from people.
Bogart has no way of knowing the difference, but when he sticks his head out of the second hole, he looks like a court jester.
Unsurprisingly, pictures and videos of Bogart posing as a king and jester soon went viral.
One of the most popular videos, which shows Bogart only looking through the king hole, has gained over 4.8 million views on Facebook in just under two weeks. It also has 17,000 reactions, 70,000 shares and 8,600 comments. People have been saying things like this:
Bogart truly is a lucky dog.
Not only does he have an incredibly easy life, but he also has shot to internet stardom just by sitting around and staring at people. Who wouldn’t want that job?
