Bulldog proves he's 1 in a million by flying through agility course – making only 1 small mistake
When you think of a dog show, the first thing that comes to mind is elegance and grace. Not the roughness of a clumsy bulldog.
In fact, the AKC (American Kennel Club) has included bulldogs under their designated list of “non-sporting” dogs. So they’re not often seen as “best in show” alongside poodles, Dobermans, and cocker-spaniels.
Officially, bulldogs are considered non-sporting dogs, by the American Kennel Club. Most of the time, poodles, Cocker spaniels, and Dobermans are considered the best of the best.
But Rudy isn’t average at all! He is a different breed!
He captured the hearts of the judges at the 2019 Westminster Kennel Club Masters Agility Course.
Just look at that loveable bulldog!
Rudy is his nickname, but his full name is Von Rudolph Augustus Perkins.
That might sound ridiculous, but we think it’s absolutely amazing!
Rudy’s owner, Debra Perkins, attended the event in order to compete. When they were announced, Rudy looked more ready than ever to kill it on the course.
The moment that Debra gives him the green light, our champion Rudy goes flying off into the obstacle course.
He is jumping through rings, and sprinting up the ramp. The crowd goes absolutely nuts! Nobody expected to see a bulldog move like a flash of lightning!
Rudy goes blazing through the mini-tunnels and flying over the intricate jumps. The whole time he’s smiling like he’s having the time of his life. Debra keeps pace and gives him some tips along the way.
What a good, good boy!
He makes it through the horseshoe tunnel, and then runs the wrong way!!!
Debra tries to guide him towards the correct path, but Rudy just runs right through her legs!
The ensuing collision does very little to shake Rudy’s confidence. No matter what the audience thinks.
Rudy finishes the course with plenty of excitement and never stops giving 100% the whole way through the agility course.
“No one expected this out of a bulldog tonight!”
“I agree with you, no one thought a bulldog would come out the way that Rudy just did.”

At the end of the course, Rudy had at least 5 faults counted by the judges. But that doesn’t stop the crowd from cheering and going crazy.
I noticed one, but it didn’t seem that important. Maybe we can overlook it!
Rudy is so proud of his accomplishments as he stares at the camera with a large grin plastered on his face.
Like seriously! Who could get over that face!
The audience and commentators alike loved his appearance and run on the course.
“Rudy. Rudy. Rudy.”
“I know, I was waiting for the crowd to chant that.”
“I know, they should have!”

The video reached 2.5 million views in just a short time. There are also thousands of comments under the video from raving fans who love the cute bulldog.
Tons of encouraging viewers left messages about how great he is or comparing him to their own dogs.
Most bulldogs don’t move unless food is involved right? There are definitely days that I feel the same way!
Here is a bold tweet by one viewer who liked the preferred the performance over two of the most popular professional sporting events in the United States!
The value in dog shows is one of absolute entertainment and fun.
Congratulations to both Rudy and Debra! What an inspiring performance by the two! We can’t wait to watch you again next year Rudy!
