Bus driver doesn’t think twice about holding boy’s hand until police end up with photo
Most kids are excited to go to school. However, there are some who do not look forward to these days and enjoy spending time in the comfort of their home.
One Wisconsin student is living and understandable proof of that.
It was Axel’s first day of school.
Just like most kids of his age, he had mixed emotions about the thought of going to school without his mom.
We all have been down the same road at some point where we have to be with a new set of people in an unfamiliar place. Quite scary, right?
He was a bit delighted at the thought of meeting new friends but it quickly turned the opposite once he got a glimpse of his bus.
Axel was a 4K student and goes to a school with an elementary setting for kids ages 4 and below.
He wasn’t prepared for the ride.
Amy Johnson, Axel’s mom, wanted to document every moment of his milestone but it became difficult for her to capture his sweet moment on the school bus.
His mom encouraged him by helping him up the bus and putting him on his seat. This did not help the scared little boy.
Instead, poor Axel burst into tears.
He clung to mom even harder.
The bus driver felt sorry while witnessing the heartbreaking scene.
Isabel Lane, Axel’s bus driver, could not stand watching him having a meltdown so she did what she thought could pacify him.
She offered him her hand.
She even left him some encouraging words and told him,
“Buddy you got this and will have so much fun.”
Amy tried to sneak her way out of the bus and was able to capture the “perfect picture” of his child on the bus.
She wanted to check out Axel before his bus left and that is when she got the chance to take the picture of him holding hands with Lane.
She felt grateful and relieved at the same time knowing that Isabel was able to comfort him on his first day to school.
Then, Augusta PD saw the photo.
When the Augusta Police Department came across the heartwarming picture, they posted it on their Facebook page.
It went viral nearly as soon as it was posted. Many people were touched when they show the compassion that Isabel had towards Axel.
Isabel had been a school bus driver for Augusta School District for almost a year and she loves what she does for a living.
Isabel’s passion and love for kids have made it easier for them to go to school every day.
Lane gets to cheer the kids every morning before they get to class and it makes her happy to know that somehow she has encouraged them to have a ‘good day’ at school.
Indeed, a simple act of kindness can go a long way.
For Isabella, it changed Axel’s point of view about going to school.
Axel was able to conquer his fear through Isabel’s simple gesture. He now loves going to school and always looks forward to it.
