Street buskers sing duet of Ed Sheeran hit when Italian man steals the show

The best thing about street performances is the possibility of a candid moment between the performer and the crowd.

We eat it up every time.

In a spot in Grafton Street in Dublin, Ireland, a busker, and singer Allie Sherlock had the most unexpected encounter with one of the members of the audience.

Sherlock has been singing in Grafton Street since 2017.

She was catapulted to fame when the Douglas native appeared on The Ellen Show.

She was a viral sensation back then when her cover of Ed Sheeran’s “Supermarket Flowers” reached millions of views.

Sherlock was also invited to Los Angeles by American singer and producer Ryan Tedder from OneRepublic when he saw one of her videos on Instagram.

But even after releasing her debut album last 2019, Sherlock continued singing on Grafton.

At the beginning of the video, Sherlock can be seen singing her rendition of Ed Sheeran’s “Perfect.” She sang the song in her signature tone.

She almost sounds ethereal.

People around her stopped.

All watched while those who passed by gave her a quick glance of appreciation.

Then after she sang the first chorus, she spread her arms out to welcome someone.

She smiled and stepped back as a man approached the microphone. The unidentified man confidently takes the microphone.

The audience doesn’t know it yet but they were about to be treated to a “perfect” song number.

As verse came in, the man sang the words but in a totally different language.

At first, it’s a bit hard to tell if you’re not well-versed in Italian. But eventually, you’ll know that he’s singing the same song but in a different language.

The spontaneous performance ended with the crowd cheering for them both.

And it’s a good thing people have their cameras at the ready because no one would believe this story if you told it to them.

It wasn’t just a treat to the people who saw the performance live but also for Sherlock’s 5.7 million subscribers worldwide.

People all over the internet showed their appreciation to the performers.

“Both singers blow the original out of the water. What she does with the chorus is just magical.” Said one of the commenters.

“I’ve watched and listened to this performance so many times now. It’s so good!! I just love it! The mix of English and Italian, and you have such fun facial expressions, and changing your voice to a lower tone as you sung a part of it.” Said another.

“I like how he was respectful and brought you back into it for the final verse and gave you the final line. Wonderful.” Praised another.

You can catch more of Sherlock and more of her music on her different accounts.

Aside from her 5.7 million subscribers on YouTube, she also has 2.2 million followers on Instagram.

She publishes her work on both accounts.

Her self-titled album “Allie” is also out now and is streaming on all major platforms.
