Purple Coneflowers
Purple coneflowers are great flowers for attracting butterflies. Many flowers only attract certain species butterflies, but purple coneflowers attract Fritillaries, Monarchs, Painted Ladies, and Swallowtails who all love to eat their nectar.
Brazilian verbena
Brazilian verbena is part of the Verbena Bonariensis family, their light purple color makes them a beautiful addition to your garden, and they also attract various types of butterflies. They attract Eastern Tiger Swallowtails, Fritillaries, Giant Swallowtails, Hairstreaks, Painted Ladies, Red Admirals, Skippers, and Sulphur butterflies.
Milkweeds
Milkweeds are the best plants for attracting Monarch butterflies. When the classic black and orange butterflies begin migrating up north from Mexico, they actually search for milkweed plants.
