All vets are animal lovers. But Doctor Kwane Stewart loves animals so much, that he’s spending most of his free time helping them.

Some people really go above and beyond for the sake of animals. But possibly the most dedicated animal activist in the world is Doctor Kwane Stewart.

He has been a vet for many years. But for the last decade, he’s been helping some of the most vulnerable animals.

Most days of the week, Dr. Stewart spends his free time driving to cities in California and locating dogs and other pets that belong to homeless people.

When he sees a pet and their homeless owner, he explains that he’s a vet who is offering free services. He then asks if he can examine their pet.

He will then perform whatever services he can on the pet, from flea treatments to vaccinations and more.

Thanks to Dr. Stewart’s actions, hundreds of pets have been able to live longer and happier lives.

Dr. Stewart’s cause began back in 2011. The global financial crisis had led to a major increase in Dr. Stewart’s home city, Modesto.

At first, Dr. Stewart volunteered at a soup kitchen. He noticed that many of the people who frequented the facility had dogs with them. So he offered to check up on the pets.

Word started spreading about how Dr. Stewart was helping. Eventually, there were long lines of people wanting Dr. Stewart to look at their dog or cat.

Then Dr. Stewart realized that he needed to help as many homeless pets as possible.

Dr. Stewart does his best for all of the animals that he encounters.

If a pet only has a minor issue, then he treats them himself, covering the entirety of the cost. But if a pet has a major issue, he turns to GoFundMe for assistance.

The vet has gained many insights on homeless people and their pet ownership thanks to his work.

He has stated that often, he has encountered homeless people who take care of their pets better than people who go to his veterinary practice. And if it weren’t for the homeless owners, many of their pets would be living terrible lives or have been killed. For instance, people often tell Dr. Stewart that they found their pets abandoned in dumpsters.

He has also realized how hard it is for homeless people to find help.

“You learn very quickly that you have no idea what put them there. It could be something like a job loss which leads to bad credit, so they can’t get an apartment, and these moments snowball quickly.” – Doctor Kwane Stewart.

Of course, Dr. Stewart lacks the resources to get the people he helps off the streets. But by treating their animals, he is often helping them with the most important things in their lives.

Dr. Stewart knows that the people that he helps would do anything for their pets. But they lack the financial means to achieve this. Because of this, he will never consider stopping.

Of course, due to coronavirus, more people than ever will need help with their pets’ medical issues. Hopefully, Doctor Kwane Stewart will inspire others to help the less fortunate whenever they can.
