Finn’s parents have something that most other parents of young kids can only dream of: regular uninterrupted sleep. And it’s all thanks to Brutus the dog!

That’s because for the next couple of years, your nights are going to be filled with the sound of screams. And then come the monsters that live under the bed.

If only there was some way to stop kids from crying out for their parents at night for the first 5ish years of their lives. Paige Knudtson has found an incredible solution.

When she learned she was pregnant, she decided to adopt a dog. Soon, she discovered Brutus, a boxer who was about two years old.

As the weeks passed by, Brutus fell in love with Paige.

He also became incredibly protective of her. He could tell that she was pregnant. And Brutus was excited about meeting his baby brother.

But something happened that would delay their first meeting.

The doctors detected a heart defect in the unborn child.

The first seven weeks of baby Finn’s life were spent in the hospital. As soon as he was born, he had to undergo an emergency medical procedure. This culminated in open-heart surgery. Luckily, the surgery was a success. Finn soon recovered.

Then, eventually, Paige and Finn were discharged.

Brutus was overjoyed to see his mom and human brother. He had been incredibly worried over the weeks. But now he could see that both of them were home.

But the dog could tell that Finn needed some extra looking after. Brutus fell in love with the boy in that moment.

As the weeks and months passed, Finn and Brutus became inseparable.

In fact, Brutus never likes to be in a Finnless room.

Finn’s parents accepted the fact that Brutus was basically Finn’s third parent. They even let the dog sleep in the same room as the baby.

Whenever Finn cried in the night, Brutus would wake up and try and kiss Finn through the bars of his crib.

But then, when Finn learned to walk and got a big boy bed, something truly amazing happened.

Paige and her husband realized that they weren’t being woken up in the middle of the night. What was going on? How was Finn so quiet at night?

Then one day, Paige looked at the previous night’s nannycam footage and saw something heartwarming.

In the middle of the night, Finn did indeed wake up. But instead of crying out for his parents, the baby realized that comfort was already in the room.

Finn got out of bed and snuggled up next to Brutus. Brutus was more than happy to share his dog bed with Finn. After all, he had been doing that for a while!

Other nights, Brutus would climb up onto Finn’s bed. But either way, the dog was there to keep his favorite person happy.

Paige then uploaded the footage of the nannycam to Facebook. It soon spread far and wide. In just one month, the video has gained almost 100,000 views. It also has many reactions and a range of comments. People have been saying things like this:
