60 Pictures That Show How Different Canada And America Are

One of the most well-known global friendly rivalries has to be that between the USA and Canada. They’ve long been the butt of each other’s jokes, and when traveling they get deeply offended when mistaken for the other. The truth is, these two neighboring countries are close geographically, but they are not always so similar.

Here’s a list of the ways that North America and North-North America can be two sides of the same dollar coin (or “loonie”).

1) Money Money Money

One thing that Americans love to poke fun at Canadians aboot is their colourful Monopoly-esque money. Of course, Americans and their relationship to money can also be a little…extreme…

7) In Canada, You’ve Gotta Make A Tan While The Sun Shines

It’s not always so warm in Canada, so when it is, you’ve got to be optimistic and get outside! Sometimes the difference between freezing cold, and not-freezing cold is only a few inches (or…a few more centimeters).

8) Who Needs To Chose Between Seasons?

Not Canadians! Four Seasons in one photo, that’s the perfect place for the more indecisive among us to live. Canada, you are wild, even when you’re not IN the wild.

This is one heck of a fridge! The owner of said fridge is a little bit questionable, but he certainly does love his country if his garish shirt is to be believed.

13) In The US, They’re Very Proud Of Their Monuments

We’ve seen them before, and it’s no wonder what lines the shelves of souvenirs in New York City. The Statue of Liberty is a symbol of immigration to the US, so one has to wonder what kind of souvenirs one can find in Canada…

On US freeways you may need to look out for the odd deer leaping across the road, but Canadians need to keep their eyes peeled for something a bit larger… and apparently hungry for cars?

Canadians like their cheese in curd form, over fries with a tonne of gravy poured over in a dish called Poutine. If you’ve never had poutine, it is literally the best combination of these ingredients possible.

42) Even Milk Is A Little Different In The North

Before milk can even become cheese it’s sold in a rather strange format: bags. They’re not the only countries to do it, but it does seem rather strange to Americans.
