The hilarious footage was taken bat Dogwoods Canine Play located in Olympia, Washington. Staff at the center just couldn’t get enough of Hannibal the Boxer’s hilarious reaction to being dropped off there.

The video here was recorded in 2015, but we’re certain the rather stoic looking dog featured in it still hasn’t overcome the betrayal they felt that day, however.

Owners Go On Vacation

Hannibal was taken to the center as his owners were going on vacation. As many dog owners know, vacations are a difficult time for pets. They were hoping that Hannibal would get some quality playtime and supervision at the center while they were gone.

Hannibal was not impressed. He didn’t bark or run around in circles, however, he just stood as tall as can be and seemed incredulous that his owners had left him in this mysterious place.

Staff at the center noticed Hannibal was staring a hole through anyone on the other side of the glass. They figured it would make an entertaining video – and they were right, too!

Hannibal’s reaction is hilarious and you can view it for yourself in the video below.

The camera operator moves around but Hannibal doesn’t budge. His eyes follow the camera but his body stays planted firmly in the ground.

His chest is puffed way out as well and it almost appears as though Hannibal is trying to come off as a human. Maybe he thinks that’s the ticket out of there.

Hannibal has a solid side glare look as well. If he ever needs to tell someone in a movie theater to stop talking, he’s got all the right moves to do so.

“This is like when your parent says ‘I”m not angry. Just disappointed,” one person wrote in the video’s comments section.

Hannibal’s glance is so human-like that it almost looks like he’s waiting for a waiter to come over so he can complain about his food.

There’s No Escaping Hannibal’s Glare

Hannibal’s eyes just kept following the camera. His face is similar to the Mona Lisa effect. This phenomenon holds that the Mona Lisa painting always looks as though it is staring at the person viewing it no matter what angle they are at.

Well, the Mona Lisa has nothing on Hannibal. We think they should call it “The Hannibal Effect” from now on.

“He looks like a boss who is gonna give an employee his performance report,” wrote another person in the comments section.

The Dogwoods Canine Play center posted footage of Hannibal on its Facebook page. From there it went viral and has now been viewed over 3 million times.

There are other photos of Hannibal available on the center’s website. He didn’t just spend his whole time there glaring at people.

It’s not certain if the video was taken right after Hannibal was dropped off or as he was being picked up, but one thing is abundantly clear- whatever was going on, Hannibal was not impressed with it.

“The furniture, dead… your house shoes, dead… clean floor, dead,” one viewer quipped.

“That’s not staring, that’s straight up burning holes into your soul,” another viewer added.

Hannibal is a boxer and they are known for having some solid side-eyed looks. He’s not the only adorable dog known to give off such looks.

These dogs are adorable and loyal but if you leave them in a kennel while you head out on vacation, expect some looks from them in return.

“Every breath you take, every move you make. I’ll be watching you,” another viewer commented.
