Owner tells dog the cat ate all the treats and over 200M love his hilarious response

How dare this guy get the bacon from the meat drawer?

If you’re hanging around the internet since 2011, chances are you’ve stumbled upon a video of a talking dog. The dog in question has a “remarkable ability” of holding a conversation with an owner who was about to ruin his day.

The video uploaded on YouTube was titled “Ultimate Dog Tease”. Ten years after it was first published, the video has left millions of people in stitches.

The conversation starts with an ominous hook.

The “owner” shares to the dog that there was something he can’t get off his mind – something he’s been meaning to tell his dog. He brings up something about the fridge and the “meat drawer” and it was more than enough to get the dog’s full attention.

“Yes?” the dog whimpers in reply. Then the man began telling him what the drawer contained. It was bacon. But not just any bacon. It was of a specific kind. The kind that made the dog say “The maple kind?”

With his desperate anticipation dialed to a full 100, the dog was beginning to string where the conversation was going. The man said he took the bacon out, which only meant one thing – he ate it.

The dog’s wailing rebuttal became an instant internet hit.

But of course, it wasn’t really the dog who’s doing all the talking. The man behind the short skit was Andrew Grantham. His most famous work, Clark the Talking Dog, catapulted him to internet success.

“I just picked it out and thought, ‘I want to play with this one today,’ and within a couple of hours, that one was done,” he said to the news outlet.

After he uploaded it, the rest was history.

According to the Toronto Star, the video became viral right after it was published. It racked 20 million views in just two weeks.

Grantham who once worked as a website creator switched his career to voiceovers. The popularity of his dubbed videos became his calling card with people flocking to his channel. The news outlet also said that Grantham no longer searches for videos to dub because people are sending their videos to him.

“If I find that I’m laughing, then I know that I’m getting somewhere.” He shared to the Toronto Star. “If I’m not laughing, then I know to keep working until I start laughing.”

People love his hilarious conversations.

“Ten years ago today, I made this dog talk. Music videos aside, I believe it is the most viewed comedy production in any medium in the history of the world,” he said in an Instagram post alluding to Clark the Dog.

Even today, the video still manages to get new viewers who are also stopping by to tell him how much they’re loving it. If it’s the lines, the expressions, or how both of these come together like a real conversation, we’ll never know. All we know is at one point we’ll revisit the video and just hit play.
